Cancun has Ruth Chris steakhouse too. What offended me bad, is when the first McDonalds went up in PVR. All you can do is not visit those establishments while on vacation, and try to live like a local.

Thailand isn't any different with McDs, Pizza Hut, and KFC. In fact I wrote a topic about Thai Girls getting fat from eating all that shit.




I remember this gal I met in PVR back in 1988. As soon as she came to visit for a timeshare owners meeting, her first request was to go to McDonalds here.

I go to Cancun and Cabo San Lucus,a lot but rarely monger there, as It's usually a family thing. It fun to hang out with my kids drinking Margaritas in bars, in the states they are not old enough, and they won't do it hanging around drinking with Dad, but in Mexico it's kind of natural and ok to do, but back in the states, it's you better not drink, and get your ass home early.

But what pissed me off the most I was in Cancun last summer, and I wanted just a cheap taco for lunch, and I couldn't find any, unless I wanted to hop on a bus into the real Cancun where the locals are at. In Cabo, I got offended over the high price of the mixed drinks in the higher end hotels wanting to charge $10 dollars? This isn't what Mexico is about. In San Jose, they have cheaper hotels, where the drinks are free with your hotel visit...that's the way it should be.

People made complaints about those cities before that there is too much cement and it's overly commercialized or as I say there are overly influenced by America, it's those cities tend to me too much Americanized. Now I know some US citizens welcome seeing familiar sites in Mexico as they do in the states. But I actually got offended seeing a Chris Ruth Steakhouse in Cabo, charging high prices.

You know I love Chris Ruth Steakhouse in Palm Springs, but not in Mexico.

But I guess it's like that all over, just look at what they are saying about Hawaii, for years now, it's an over developed concrete jungle, and it is, but I still like it.

Guadalajara was, by far, the best mongering town. Culiacan had the most exotic looking chicas. Monterrey is also very nice.

OK, sorry I used a mistatement of words. I should have used "resort cities in Mexico."

But only one resort town that I never paid a pretty penny was in Mazatlan. And that's because their tourist population is not like PVR, CUN, or Cabo.

Only in the high roller beach resorts do you find those stupid prices and likewise the people insane enough to pay them.

Not uncommon for Mexico. It was $20 cover charge foir Chilly Willys in Cancun, and the LD were $20 a pop there too. I haven't been to Cancun since 1995, nor do I care to go there again.

I've never gone to the strip clubs in PVR. I stuck mostly with La Zona Roja, where the road by the bullring leads. Never had a bad time there.

Both times I was there for national teams. In 1993 in Mexico City, I saw Mexico crush the U.S. 4-0; also saw Mexico-Jamaica (I think) in a night game.

In 1999, I was in Guadalajara for the Confederations Cup, saw 6 or 7 games, then went to Mexico City for the Mexico-U.S. semifinal, which was a great game, won by Mexico in OT. Cuauhtemoc Blanco did nothing the whole tournament, then took over the final 20 minutes or so of the U.S. game, then dominated in the final against Brazil (which I watched on TV from Guadalajara; was back there for U.S. in the third-place game.)

Ronaldinho was chosen MVP of the tournament because of what he did in group play primarily; Blanco should have won it because he was responsible for Mexico winning the title.

Also seen the Tijuana team at CREA a couple times, and I've seen Mexico at three World Cups (94, 98, 06) and in the U.S. many times and seen many Mexican clubs in the U.S.

Puerto Vallarta. I loved the city/food. It really sucks for mongering. Don't go to the strip bars. They wanted to charge me $30 for the girls glass of champagne. The girls and managers were assholes. Had some luck with the outcall massage in the phone book.

I've been to Mexico City twice and Guadalajara once (for 2 weeks), both times for the futbol, not for the wares.

I've visited Tapachula, San Cristobal de las Casas, Palenque, Chichen Itza, Oaxaca, Monte Alban, Taxco, Puebla, Mexico City, Thotihuacan, Juarez, Nogales, Guaymas, Guadalajara, Tlaquepaque, Union de Tula, Ayutla, Manzanillo, Colima, Comala........then the cruise destinations: Puerto Vallarto, Acapulco, Zijuatanejo, Ixtapa, Mazatlan, Topolobampo, El Fuerte, Loreto, San Javier, La Paz, Cabo San Lucas, Ensenada......and Tijuana.

Mexico? I love it!!

As far as the border towns and attitudes between gringos and mexicanos, it depends on where you go in those towns, on either side of the border. Where tourists hang out, there is a "get all the money you can from them" attitude.....on either side of the border. Think the San Diegans are not trying to pry the money from the tourist (and I don't necessarily mean anyone is trying to rip off anyone, but that happens at times). Especially the tourists from the cruise ships who are here for 8 hours. I think it's the nature of the business, and besides, there is not much incentive to invest a lot of time in getting to know someone.

I visit friends in Mexico and I also go to do volunteer work in Tijuana at times, and also go there to see doctors and dentists. I've spent many years traveling all over the world. The regular, everyday working people are pretty much the same everywhere: friendly, honest, interesting, fun to be around.

When I go somewhere to monger, anywhere in the world, I am respectful. I want what the chicas have; they want what I have, the $$. We're not talking about intimate relationships here. Be nice and have some fun. The problems arise when someone is not respectful, often because of booze. When trouble is brewing, I leave. Got no time to spend on the legal system in any country. But I've never had a problem anywhere, just like most of us. If I run into some unfriendly people in the bars, I leave. Too many choices available to have to put up with that.
