Okay,

For months, if not years now I have been trying to figure out you guys and your ridiculous standards that you judge women by. Not just on this board, but on the others that I have visited as well. Many have picked out major flaws, not to mention countless minor ones that (in my opinion) have nothing to do with the beauty, attractiveness, or personality of the women that are being judged.

Cases in point...

1. Attractive women are stuck up and won't date an average guy.

Jeezus, look at the standards you hold them to, and the criteria by which you rate them. Perhaps they are just holding the same standards that many of the men here have. Can you blame them? However, personally I have not found this to be the case. I have found that women prefer an average looking (with a rocking good personality), who is self sufficient, caring, loyal, can take home to mom type.

2. She has big hips, is thick, thunder thighs...

That is called 'normal'. Women like men come in all shapes and sizes, and there is far more than one type that I would consider attractive. The women who hit the gym 3 hours a day are very few and far between, just like us men. Most of us have bellies, balding, the odd zit, grey hair... This is NORMAL people.

3. Women are not honest

Are you?

Guys, they are trying to 'sell' themselves to you to get a date, just like you are to them. We all put our best foot forward hoping that they will like our personalities enough to overlook our flaws. Suck it up, this is dating. I'm not saying there is not a difference between a white lie or a half truth, and a great big one. Just take it at face value and look in the mirror yourselves.

Jeezus, there are times I'm really ashamed to have a penis. It is many of the above types of attitudes that make it hard for a guy to get a date. (Even if one is not looking, the attitudes that are conveyed on these boards seep into our daily lives).

So, the question arises... Why are so many women this way? Probably because WE made them so.

I concur player but you have to realize that there are some women out there with ridiculous standards as well. I have heard many women making cruel remarks about men regarding their bodies, their financial backgrounds, hobbies, etc..

1. Appearance

Personality wins over appearance .....if not, the relationship will inevitably fail or you are in it for a good ride (but then theres the issue of chemistry.)

2. Body Shapes

Ignore the media or its expectations on us to have this ideal body image.....


3. Many people including both women and men are dishonest. Too bad we trained our little ones to be like adults.

I understand and agree with what you are saying, there are indeed all types of people who have the high standards, both men and women, but it seems to be so rampant and prevalent here that I find it just plain frustrating. It seems that even those women that are found on the cover of Cosmo are unacceptable looking any more.

I somewhat agree with what you are saying here. Honestly I don't take too much seriously, though often I might give the impression that I do. I enjoy rating the women as much as the next guy, but I still can't believe what some men think is a 6 or less. Where I beg to differ is that this IS the real world. Why rate a woman a 6 here when if one saw her on the street she would be an 8+. This is what I don't get. Honesty and adherence to ones values should transcend in whatever medium one chooses to convey themselves in.

Player: I think the point you miss(ed) out here is that, especially with the SSGs, they are NOT supposed to be normal women walking down the street. They are are purporting themselves to be "pin up" material or the top 10% on the attraction scale. Therefore they will be critiqued as such. If they are thinking their are SO attractive that they deserve to have their picture posted in a place where "only hotties dare to travel" then they will be treated as such.

As hoffman pointed out in one of his lame ass posts that they'd probably rate me a -8, that's a copout and a crock because I'm not purporting or presenting myself as a model or pin up of any sort.

Has ANY of the ssg's looked even remotely like this? I would hazard a resounding NO FUCKING WAY.......(and in case you forgot, the SSG used to be on page 3 therefore this is comparable to what ours should look like as well since the SSG idea CAME from the british Page 3).

If you look at the GHM thread those women are more realistic and get treated as such. A) because they are NOT purporting themselves to be pinups in any way shape or form and b) because they are not shot professionally.

Maybe you have never experinced the harshness that women exhibit? I was on lavalife where you have to pay to sent IMs to women. I sent a hello to this average looking woman. She replied: sorry, I'm looking for a guy with a full head of hair".....

I replied: well, I'm looking for a woman with firm boobs but at our age (mid 40's at the time) I don't think I'll find it

She replied: that was kind of harsh...

Typical of the double standard that women exhibit. She can reject me because I'm bald, but I can't reject her because of her floppies and if I do, I'm being harsh.

The reason I rate women the way I do is because here, it is based 100% solely on their appearance. Given a chance to find out their personality, then they might score a lot lower, or higher. I've met a shitload of women who, on the rating scale, would only be a 5, with a perfect 10's attitude. They act like their shit don't stink and treat others that way. I've also met perfect 10's who are really down to earth and personable, friendly, kind.

Did we make them that way? HELL no.....cosmo, voque, harlequin romance, and all the romance novels made them that way. The "hell no I won't settle" for anything less than my dream man, made them this way.

Here's a story for you: I met this woman online at a dating website. We emailed back and forth, chatted online back and forth, and then via the phone. We talked and talked until the wee hours of the night. We set a date for saturday night. She called me up on the friday all excited. So excited to the point that she openly admitted that she was SO turned on she wanted me to come out and see her that night. A side story: I smoke and she was an adamant anti smoker. She loathed the idea. Right from the get go I said to her "this will be a problem" and she was no no no, it'll be fine.

Side note: we talked for about 3 or 4 weeks before making a live date......

So that friday night I said to her "ok, if I leave now I can be there in an hour" (she lived out hamilton way and I was in toronto). She said "that'd be awesome but, it IS a little late (1 am at the time).

She called me up about an hour before she was to leave and told me she bought a sexy new dress and calf high go go boots for our date. She was so looking forward to it. Could we go dancing after dinner? No problem.

So all along we took photos of each other and sent them off, (to confirm we were who we said we were we requested poses like holding today's newspaper etc due to all the phonies out there).

Well the buzzer was down again in my building so we agreed to meet in my lobby. Well I was standing inside and saw her walking up, a spring in her step, smiling so much I thought her head would fall off. She approached the door, grinning from ear to ear and as I reached to press the lever to unlock the door, I saw this cloud form over her expression. She went from a grinning fool to one that I swear to this day, made her look like she was about to cry. Not of excitement, but of disappointment. I was still all enthusiastic said "heyyy great to meet you" and went to give her a hug, she backed away. I said "you ready to go"......ummmmmm no, let's just go upstairs....umm what? I don't feel like going out......(unspoken "now"). We got upstairs to my place and I had picked up a bottle of her favourite wine, do you want a glass? Umm no thanks....how was the drive? ummm fine.....totally the opposite of who she was on the phone the night before.

One other thing: the night before when she was all turned on? SHe had said to me she'd never tried anal sex before but was so turned on she wanted to try it...tonight? Fuck she wouldn't even look at me.

So, we ended up going to dinner and she was NOT at all into the date.

Why?

The ONLY reason was because of how I looked. 100%. No ifs ands or buts about it. We got along famously in every other way. We had talked about everything. I was in no way deceitful, in no way hiding exactly who I was. I had sent full body photos (clothed) just taken 3 days before so my appearance should have come as NO surprise.

Sorry, the "what's inside is what counts" is 100% BS. How can this be true if you walk up to her in a bar, on the street, in a club, in a restaurant and she rejects you out of hand in 2.2 seconds? That is 100% because of appearance. How can it not be since the only thing you've said to her is "hello"?

We made them this way? Bullshit......THEY made themselves this way.

Now? I have since discovered that I get rejected 999 times out of 1000. By homely women, by beautiful women, by 4's and by 10's. I figured, why bother getting rejected by homely women? Why put myself out there for homely women? If I'm going to put myself out there for rejection I might as well go for the really beautiful ones...... (or at least the ones I find to be beautiful).

My 2 cents:

Years ago I'm working part time running the security at a night club. We are putting in around 1500 people per night so things are really busy.

A woman strikes up a conversation me on how she can't meet a decent guy yadda yadda. She also says that looks are not important and what she is really looking for is someone who has a good sense of humour and makes her laugh.

So even though I'm skeptical I decide to test her out. I call over an employee of mine and introduce her. Now this guy is around 6'3, 340lb's. So he's big around the middle shall we say. But he is downright one of the funniest and most honest guys I have ever met. Not narcissistic or self aggrandizing in the least. Needless too say very popular with all his co-workers.

I leave them alone and let them talk for about 30 minutes. When I notice the conversation breakup and her leave I go over and ask her when they are going out? She proceeds to tell me that although he seems like a nice guy he is not her type. Then she points to another co-worker and says ''what about him''. The guy she had pointed out was 6' about 220lb's of muscle with tinted hair and earrings. Always tanned and was regularly going through most of the female clientele. A Portuguese dude who was our top swordsman.LOL.

I introduced them as well and she went home with him that night. The next night I inquired about her and he shrugged and said JFB. That was one of his expressions and meant, just another fucking bitch. He never saw her again and either did I.

Over the years I figure I worked close to 3000 nights in the nightclub/stripclub industry. I'd say I have a fairly good handle on human behaviour and some interesting antidotes to tell when need be.

Your experience echos mine Bosco. Women "say" they want a nice guy that will make them laugh, nice personality, will treat them right and all that but really, they want all that in the GQ player....problem is, they are mutually exclusive. The pretty boy players are just that....

Throughout my life most of my close buddies have been the player type. Countless times I was the one they turned to when Mr Player Five F'd them...(find feel finger fuck forget) or used and abused them and tossed them to the curb.

Here's another good story for you:

I kept my boat at a marina in toronto. I met up with a boat buddy/player and we became pretty good friends. So the start of a new season always ment a new batch of ladies working at the pub or the snack bar. So buddy and I go over on the first saturday the snack bar opens to grab a bite and see what's what.

So there's a nice looking blonde girl working there. We intro ourselves, shoot the shit, order and sit down. So we eat and take off back to the docks. On the way back to the boat, I said "I'm going back later and ask her out" he said "too late, already did, we're going out tomorow afternoon".

The story goes (as per usual). He takes her out on his boat, fucks her. Takes her out a couple times that week, fucks her. Meets her sister the following weekend, takes HER out, fucks her. The one from the snackbar finds out, comes crying to me.

During the crying she says to me: you know, I don't think you'd do something like that would you? I said "hell no.....that's wrong on so many levels". She then says "you know, when you two came over to the snack bar, I thought you were better looking". I said "nice to hear". "Yeah, I thought it'd be nice to go out with you"...."oh yeah"? "yeah..."

SO I said "if you wanted to go out with me, thought I was nicer looking, and think i wouldn't fuck your sister, why did you accept his invitation"??? I don't know......Then she says "want to go out sometime"??? I said "umm no thanks..."

Why?

I said "I really don't want to get into it but I don't think it'd be a good idea....if you want to hang out, have a drink at the pub or whatever, that's fine but nothing more". I really didn't want to say what I was really thinking: wtf, I have SOME self esteem, no way in HELL I'm going to be ____'s hand off guy and take his sloppy seconds......

I have no idea why but my standards are a lot higher when it come to eye candy then to dating. I suspect that part of my dating history has changed what I look for in a woman than what I look at. Having once dated a model (she was an absolute stunner) and the disappointment that she was absolutely STUPID, I on a more personal level will bump up my rating on civilians due to intelligence and the ability to hold a conversation.
One curiosity is that several years ago I was a fixture on the local bar scene and while a girl wouldn't look at me twice, after someone pointed out who I was then I had no issues finding bed mates.
What I have also found really curious is that I am regularly enjoying the carnal pleasures of a woman 15 years my junior. I have never acted the gentleman to her... hell over the christmas season I hit on her best friend at a party right in front of her. I guess with some women "No, not interested." makes me more interesting.
Which, lets face it...is fucked up.

SH: you make some good points. I think the hitting on her friend right in front of her made you a "bad boy" and we ALL know women love bad boys. (not all, but a LOT). But again, it all depends on who the bad boy is. My player buddy can say ANYthing to a woman. ANYTHING. He can say "women are a dime a dozen and I'm not poor" and women think "you're bad" if I were to say that? They'd think "you're a creep".

As for "pointing out who you are", was it another woman? I have found that having another woman vouch for you makes you infinitely more attractive. One night at the marina pub I put an onyx ring on my left ring finger and turned it around like a wedding band. Women were ALL over me that night. I mean it was frucking ridiculous. Then one of them said "where's you wife"? Wife? I'm not married....Why are you wearing a wedding band? Oh shit, sorry, and turned it around so the stone was showing...WHOOSH you could almost hear the stampede as they ran for their lives......

Did we make them this way? HELL no......it's their competitive nature. They bitch about men and their egos all the time but when it comes to married men, women are cut throat (again, not ALL but many if not most).

I mean, you hear all the time how women are "all sisters under the skin" but really, if that were true, why do they constantly fuck a sister's husband because no matter what, if a guy cheats on his wife he's doing it with another woman (again, for the most part lol).

My player buddy preys on unhappily married women. I mean it's fricken ridiculous. I think he thinks of it as "I'm better than him because I can take his woman". It's pathological actually. The funny thing is, they fall for his BS all the time, then when it gets serious, they find out the grass is NOT greener......sometimes it takes them 6 months, sometimes not until after they move in together.....

If I may interject here for a moment...

Another thing that makes you more desirable to other women, is if you are WITH an attractive woman already. I'm just your average looking dude, but kind of a happy go lucky kinda up beat personality and I like to flirt, and the reaction is completely different when I am alone or with buddies, than when I am with Mrs. CG. The difference is REALLY night and day.

A couple weeks ago, I stop in at a local pub that recently opened up, with a buddy of mine for a couple drinks, flirt with the cute female bar tender, and basically get the cold shoulder reaction. No biggie, happens from time to time. I'm used to it. uch:

A week later, stop in at the SAME pub, with Mrs. CG, sit at the bar, with THE SAME female bar tender, and flirt again, but this time she's all flirty back! She didn't even recognize me! LOL I was completely invisible to her when I was with a buddy, and she was totally into flirting when Mrs. CG was there too. :shock:
