I’d rather read what Fauci actually wrote: "Masks are really for infected people to prevent them from spreading infection to people who are not infected rather than protecting uninfected people from acquiring infection. The typical mask you buy in the drug store is not really effective in keeping out virus, which is small enough to pass through material. It might, however, provide some slight benefit in keep out gross droplets if someone coughs or sneezes on you. I do not recommend that you wear a mask, particularly since you are going to a very low risk location. Your instincts are correct, money is best spent on medical countermeasures such as diagnostics and vaccines."

How has the science changed from what he said? Masks still do not stop anything smaller than droplets.

The Burlington outbreak isn't just a "breakthrough" case. Given the high numbers, it's essentially proving the vaccines are ineffective against the delta variant. It's not breaking through. It's just walking through like the vaccine wasn't there.

It doesn't essentially prove anything if you understand science. You don't reach conclusions from anecdotal instances in the newspaper, you do the math of the total number of vaccinations vs. the total number of breakthough cases vis-a-vis the number of cases amongst the unvaccinated.

When you look at the big picture the science is totally clear: the vaccinated have much greater protection against covid including the delta variant vs. the unvaccinated.

That does NOT mean that everyone who gets vaccinated won't catch covid! Hundreds of millions of vaccinations still means enormous numbers of infections even using 90%+ effective vaccines.

I know you guys keep each other amused and indoctrinated by posting every single instance you can find of the vaccinated catching covid regardless, but that would be kinda like me posting every instance of people killed in car crashes wearing seat belts or healthy smokers in their eighties to prove seat belts don't work and smoking doesn't cause lung cancer.

Sorry to say it doesn't work that way.
