Why use Massage Tools?

    I am generally opposed to using "tools", such as those mentioned in previous posts UNLESS the problem(s) is strictly physical and/or the client has a physical problem that needs massage therapy, but is very uncomfortable with touch.     I have tried a number of "tools" on myself, but have not had much luck acheiving the results that I hoped for.  I personally get starved for human touch, in which hands-on massage seems to help out greatly with.     Also, if things get too "strenous" during a massage treatment, reiki can be substituted in for a while.  Using a mixture of reiki and massage therapy during the same session has allowed me to work on several people back to back with very little strain on myself.From John Nozum

No-one's mentioned rocks!! I know quite a few of us use them! The heat/cold penetrates the muscles, plus you can easily provide more pressure.  I've found the rocks have had the biggest impact on my treatments over the last few years than any other technique/tool I've looked into since I started using them about 4 years ago.
