Which are the best strip clubs in SJ?

I don't see many posts about strip clubs. I've seen some very interesting websites promoting strip clubs in SJ, with Jacuzzi rooms, airplane cockpits, private rooms, etc.

I wanted to know which clubs to visit and which to avoid? Anybody had any experiences with the Jacuzzi rooms? What is the average price of private, all-inclusive dances and for how long?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

You can do a search on 'clip and joint' and check those posts. MY short list of clip joints would include:

Atlantis
Hollywood
Puro Platino
Tango India
Centerfolds
Elite
Lipstick
Scarlett's
Any place suggested by a taxi driver

My list of places that are reasonably honest or reasonably priced include:
Arcadas* **
Las Margaritas * **
Monaco **
Pantera Rosa ?
Kamur ?
Alcazar ?

* = reasonably honest
** = reasonably priced (yymv)
? = okay if you watch your step (ask price before you buy anything and DO NOT run a tab).

the last bit of advice is good for any strip club, but is particularly appropriate at the clubs so noted.

IMO Pantera Rosa followed by Kamur, as far as looks go. Monaco really only has like 2-3 doable girls, the rest are "big" (they need 2 chairs to sit down comfortably) or scary ugly. PR and Kamur aren't cheap but quality is worth the price. I haven't been to Arcadas, Alcazar, or Margaritas, so I can't compare.

FWIW, it seems to me most strip clubs are a side show from the main mongering action in SJO. Nobody should go to SJO with the mentality that like in the US it's where you go to play with girls and see naked bodies. IMHO, SCs are where you go after you get to know the rest of the venues. Good times are to be had but don't start there and don't focus on them imho.

I got seriously clipped at Scarlett's in Fed 07 - had to cancel $500+ in charges to my credit card after the host said that the card was refused and I put the charges on another. Never again.

I think the rates for the anything goes VIP rooms at Atlantis are around $375/hour. I would expect the chica to try to upsell too once in the room. I never had the stupidity to go for that.

Atlantis has some nice looking chicas. If you can pay your $20 to get in and get your three drinks and avoid the VIP rooms and the $20 chica drinks it is a good place for eye candy.

it seems that the strip clubs can be really hit or miss and overly expensive from your comments. if not strip clubs, what other options are there late at night. I am going to focus on the MPs during the late afternoon. But what about at 11pm and later?

I'm staying at the Radisson, so i don't think it is a tica friendly hotel. so bringing girls back is not an option.

What would you guys recommend?

If you have a wingman, I would reccommend Molino Rojo, VIP's Taberna, and Arcadas, all cheap (under $20 a half hour). It all depends on your requirements and willingness to explore. I have been with some very sexy girls from each of these places, but the average girl working there may not float your boat, or whatever. It's hit and miss, and a newcomer to San Jose might not feel so comfortable. I wouldn't have, myself, though now these places are like 2nd homes.

Another option would be to choose a girl from the Del Rey, Key Largo or even the New York Bar and go to hotel Asia, just a half block away, rent a room for an hour, and off you go.
