Thanks for the info Pez, as a non chinese speaking obvious westerner I was kind of turned off by the "don't go out alone, you will lose you kidneys or worse" talk. It seemed kind of over the top to me. I have met westerners who live in Shenzhen and they never indicated that it was all that dangerous. They did mention the common sense things to avoid pickpockets and price gouging etc. but that was about it.

I don't think you can get away with 100rmb in the Lowu area. The normal price that I know is 130 rmb for the locals, 150 rmb for Taiwan, Hong Kong, Foreigners for doing the girls in their place. 200 rmb for take out, it costs 50 rmb more because of the time both going and coming back from your room.

You might get some girls that don't look good for a little cheaper however it is not worth 20-30 rmb that you might save since the performance will probably reflect it.

The more you pay, the more the Chinese think that you are stupid. The Chinese have absolutely no respect for people that overpay. That is one of the reasons why the Chinese think that most westerners are stupid.

Firstly you must remember to have a visa. If you do not, I know you can get one in HK
(TST, China travels, opposite Sheraton hotel), or just pop into any hotel travel desk. They are usually helpfull. I am shure you can find the same service in Macau.

I suggest that you spend the night in Macau and advance to Shenzen in the afternoon. I strongly recoment the bus service, At the Shenzen Bus station, you will find a lot of people whom can help you with hotel etc. Arriving in Shenzen at 3-4 am is not a good idea.
If you want to save the money, you might as well spend an hour or two in the airport, and catching the first bus to Shenzen in the morning.

We went to a bar/pub called Baby face in louhu and they did not like non chinease in the place (they just said it was a members club).

Anyone know why do not like non Chinease in the place?
