I gotta take issue with this comment. Since Sampson became involved with the Orphanage,it has only increased the donations and monger interest.

Through him,I met several mongers who purchased,delivered,and constructed
a massive swingset/junglegym that the kids still use. Sampson has donated his time and efforts in all the fundraisers/get-togethers for the past 7+ years,as well as donating some dates with his girls as auction prizes.

He may be guilty of other things,but when it comes to the Orphanage,I have to defend his selfless efforts.

I think that's accurate.

The typical padrote in Tijuana makes a girl stand in the alley 8+ hours a day. He then takes her money--which he did nothing to help her earn.

Samspon's escorts only worked when the wanted to work. He ran a website, posted ads on CL, drioe the chica and her date to the hotel, etc. His cut was 1/3. (If he was able to collect it.)

What he was doing was very different than what other pimps/padrates do. While I'm not endorsing what Sampson did I'm more sypathic to his situation than I would be if he were a traditional pimp/padrote.

1. His attorney's starting fees are $10,000 DOLLARS only for the first six months. They'll normally will ask you for 50% upfront and they don't give you any contract (Retainer's agreement). We got him to accept a retainer of $3,500 -and the agreement- and today we paid $2,000 under the condition that the other $1,500 to be paid on Monday.

2. Bail still set at $20,000 dollars. Tomorrow he'll request to have it reduced by half.

3. Sampson's attorney found out that more than half of his initial statement was "made-up" and does not reflect Sampson's own words. It seems to be that they did not use a translator and Sampson's doesn't even know what he signed. As you all know, his Spanish is basic -spoken, because he doesn't read or write Spanish and they took advaneforum.xxxe of that to have him sign a made-up statement.

4. Because of all the violations incurred, he did not make any statement today and he'll be back in court tomorrow to continue with the initial hearing. A piece of advice for any gringos landing in Mexican jails: It works the same way than in USA. ALWAYS REQUEST a translator. They have to provide it, free of charge to you, and is a certified one by the court. DON'T make any statements that can be manipulated without a TRANSLATOR.

5. We really hope the attorney can get the bail down to $10,000 dollars. We're asking for help from any of his supporters in the form of donations of ANY amount to bail him out. The most and only money we could come up was the $3,500 to retain the attorney and please believe, the most important thing is to get him out of there because he is in great, big danger there. If stupid shit happens in Gringo jails, just imagine in Mexico, but specially TJ. I don't want over the details on what could happen to him there. I'm sure he'll tell you all about it once he's out. Any donations will be appreciated and can be sent by paypal to [email protected]. I report will be generated to show amount received and how it was used.

6. On nicer news about the same case, I received a phone call today from the newspaper with an apology, and the offer that they will sanction the person responsible of publishing our son's picture. I'm still suing. They have at least publish that apology.

I must admit, I am a beleiver that prostitution should be legal and that their is nothing wrong with a concensual sexual act between two adults that is negotiated for pay. But, I am an opponent of pimping. Pimping is actual exploitation of the sex worker for the benefit of the pimp. Pimping is a significant part of the reason it remains illegal- organized crime is strengthened by pimping and exploits girls. That's how it plays in the news.

I like Sampson- to a reasonable extent- because he made informative posts and ran a community project to help orphans. But, he is/was a pimp. I am not so crazy about pimps.

Today was Sampson's first day in court. (Friends and legal counsel were in attendance.) I suppose in the US system it most closely matches a preliminary hearing. Details about his case are emerging. Thus far there are no charges involving minors, pornography, and/or weapons. Only pimping and pandering charges.

Bail has been set at 250,000 pesos (about US $20,000.00). This is a good sign as in more serious cases (such as those involving child pornography or trafficking in minors) bail would not be granted.

It will probably take about six months before there is a verdict; a long time to sit in a Mexican jail. It is way too soon to speculate on the outcome. But there is hope as it appears there is more media hype than evidence.

Sampson’s ex-wife strikes me as being a competent person who is very knowledgeable about the Mexican legal system. Sampson is a fortunate man in having her support. I've been told arrangements have been made for US authorities to visit Sampson and monitor his treatment.

His ex-wife knows about (and doesn’t approve of) his profession. She’s also aware that he is part of an Internet community that contains supporters and detractors. (However, I do not think she knows the name of this site.)

Sampson's ex-wife asked me to tell his friends and foes;

1. He HAD no weapons. He had never had.

4. Finally, as far as he knew, he never, ever employed anyone who couldn't prove being of legal age. HOWEVER, we don't know if somebody had a fake ID.


I want to make clear that I NEVER approved his business/lifestyle and that's why we split about 5 years ago. In other words, I'M NOT DEFENDING him BUT I'M RATHER FOR THE TRUTH. And this is the TRUTH. Please don't believe that anything else. Yes, he will have to suffer the consequences of his acts, JUST LIKE COULD HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSE. Anyone choosing the lifestyle PERFECTLY KNOWING what they could be facing. My only reason to help him is to try to get him out of the Mexican jail-of-hell because he could REALLY be in great, big danger.

Well there might be a few who say we should respect Sampson's privacy now and just wish him the best. However I feel Sampson's experience is a news worthy event that may effect some of us if we ever want to use escorts, and it helps us learn about Mexico's legal system.

I'm also disheartened that some of Sampson's friends and even websites have turned their backs on Sampson seemingly saying ,'he is an evil pimp, who made his bed, and now he has to lie in it.' The legal status of prostitution in Mexico, like the US, is a matter of local laws. In some places it is legal, in others it is illegal. Where legal it often regulated.

In Tijuana a prostitute must have a health card. A monger isn't in trouble if the prostitute lacks a health card, but the puta is.

In TJ public manifestation of prostitution is restricted to a Zone of Tolerance. That doesn't mean a prostitute can't work outside the ZN. Rather it means she can't do something like stand on the sidewalk and solicit "tricks" outside the ZN.

Pimping and pandering is illegal anywhere in Tijuana.

Excellent post! I think that the US is more inclined to extradite citizens now than ever because the Mexican government finally began extraditing Mexican citizens who are wanted on US warrants for drug trafficking related offenses. A tit for tat type deal. Plus, the Attorney General/US Attorneys Office (as is the rest of the Bush Administration) is far right religious- so they are more likely to play into this whole prostitution = sex slavery hype going on these days.

After the Dog made bail and got out of prison in Mexico, he left Mexico and returns to the states and is now living in Hawaii.

However, the Mexican government is claiming that the Dog has jumped bail and now are winning the battle to get the Dog extradited back into Mexico to face charges up to four years in jail, or if he is lucky to pay a large fine?

Would the Mexican government go after a low profile guy like Sampson and try to extradite him back to Mexico?

There are many that say that the USA sold the Dog out! They say the US made an agreement allowing the Dog to be extradited back to Mexico in exchange for that drug king pin a few months ago?
