In case you don't luck out with one of the non-pros and decide to go the other route, you might wanna try Roxy in Old Riga. They usually have a bunch of young, college types looking to make a bit of extra cash on the weekends. Voodoo lounge (Reval Hotel Latvija, very close to Club Essential) might also be an option but I didn't really like it. There weren't a whole of women by themselves there. I have heard good things about LaRocca so I would suggest to try it out. Saturday night should be good and its a proper club so you'll have plenty of variety to choose from! There's a stipclub right next to it so its convenient if you want to try your luck with one of those ladies. I'm sure atleast some of them will be up for it at the right price. Other than that, there are numerous bars/clubs where girls are looking to hook up either for money or otherwise with foreigners. So just look out for the happening places in and around Old Riga. Saturday night should be good. If all else fails, ask the taxi drivers. They'll know where to take you but a word of advise - avoid the massage parlours since they're expensive and not worth it for the service you get.

Hooking up with the local girls (not pros) is not all that difficult. As long as you're ok looking and a foreigner, you're bound to get lots of attention from girls every where. Since you're only there for a couple of days, I suggest approaching pretty much any girl you see that you wanna get to know better....it doesn't have to be clubs/bars. I spoke to girls on the street, in the park, in shops, restaurants....anything goes. I went to Fashion massageplanete one evening which was quite nice and met a couple of girls but didn't hook up with them. Also went to Club X where I hooked up with a local hotie. Club X is a proper dance club spread across three floors. The crowd's a bit young but they're friendly! I have heard good things about LaRocca (heard they have tons of hot, young local girls and not too many foreigners go there) so I would suggest you check it out (and report back here!). I went on a Sunday but it was closed.

Ha ha yeah it was a bit crowded during the hockey tournament. I was in La Rocca on the friday of finals weekend and it was full of girls that just graduated from high school. Had a great time and brought the party back to my hotel with was not a problem. Maritim hotel. Also stayed in Tomo hotel that trip and not a problem with getting girls in the room. Maritim is west of old town and tomo is well east closer to la rocca. One more piece of advise - skip the massage places. My first night, I got persuaded by one of the cabbies to go the a massage place. The girls were not all that great and the charges pretty high. I ended up paying Lats50 for a one hour massage. Basically, the girl strips down to massages you with her body...no sex is involved. Or atleast the girl I saw didn't offer any and I wasn't really interested in her. For Lats50 (maybe a little more), you can easily get a decent girl for an hour. So its not worth it.

I was in Riga a couple of weeks back. I arrived on a Friday, the day the World Hockey Championship started, and was there until Tuesday. In general, the atmosphere was quick festive and a lot was happening due to the championship which was good because the bars/clubs were a bit busier during the week days compared to the any regular weekday. On the flip side, prices were jacked up and there were lots of foreigners getting drunk everywhere. Personally, I would have probably preferred to be there at a quieter time.

Clubs/Bars: I went to the Voodoo lounge on Friday. The atmosphere is pretty much as outlined by Stevie...there were quite a few foreigners (some in suits, others in sports jerseys etc.) in one of the bars which had dancers hired by the club to flirt/dance with the customers. But they don't seem to be hookers....atleast the ones I spoke to didn't give me that impression. The other bar in the venue had regular clients but there were almost no single women there. Most of the women were in groups with men and were pretty much offlimits. Anyway, I was pretty disappointed with the atmosphere so decided to check out ClubX down the road. ClubX is a pretty large, fairly new club spread over three floors. The crowd is quite young...generally in the teens and mid/late 20s and most girls are there to dance rather than meet foreigners. I stayed there for a bit and decided to call it a night since the girls were quite young and didn't seem too interested.

Next evening, I decided to check out the Fashion massageplanete. Unlike Stevie, my experience with the place was quite good. The venue is more upscale than the Voodoo lounge and they only seem to have genuine customers....no hired dancers (except for the models that walk in their lingerie on the runway!) or hookers. There were plenty of girls...the male-female ratio was probably 50:50. I met a couple of girls and spent quite a bit of time with them...danced with them and bought them drinks etc. At one point, while I was dancing with one of them, two locals came up to me and got a bit aggressive with me, stood close to me and started staring at me and told me to go back to my country and leave the local women alone. I guess the local men are quite threatened by foreigners coming to Riga, screwing local girls
and then jetting off. Anyway, I told them to F** off and they did! At the end of the night, the girls gave me the slip....one of the gave me her number but I didn't follow up.

Sunday night can get quite boring because most places are closed. One of the few places that was open was Roxy. This place is a bit cheesy....with sticky floors, steel panels etc. The crowd is generally quite young but with a spattering of middle aged business men in suits which is why its not difficult to find pros in the bar. But the ones I saw were not that good looking so I gave them a pass. Next night I went to Roxys again and it was pretty much the same story so decided to head out to ClubX. This time I met this cute, little local, slightly older though. She was quite friendly and had a smoking body. Spoke little english but we managed to carry a bit of a conversation. As the night progressed, she became friendlier and all along I was expecting her to propose a deal but to my surprise she turned out to be a normal girl. She agreed to come back with me and we had wonderful sex into the morning!

I went to La Rocca since I had heard so much about it from people there. Apparently its one of the best places to meet locals since its a Russian bar with few foreigners. But unfortunately its only open Wed-Sat and I went on a Sunday.

Strip bars: I stayed well clear of the strip bars after being warned by a number of people. I guess that was a wise decision because I decided to spend the money instead on one of the girls from www.ladylux.lx.

Website girls: I first started calling girls from www.intimservis.lx but as Stevie mentioned, it was basically the same few oeprators answering the phone. The girls answering the phone weren't the ones doing the deed so it was no use. And most of the time, the girl I wanted to see was not available but they offered someone else. On the other hand, www.ladylux.lv was a lot better. Most of the girls answering the phone were working for themselves. I eventually decided on a hot, leggy, blonde with short hair....can't remember her name! She was wonderful. Excellent service, great attitude and beautiful body. She did ask for money upfront which was fine with me.

I surveyed girls in bars/clubs and the websites and found that the prices were generally higher than what was mentioned in some of the posts on this website. The prices generally ranged from 40Lats to 80 Lats for an hour. I think the hockey championship caused a bit of inflation due to the sudden influx of foreginers. I finally settled for 50 Lats with the girl I ordered. Actually, the prices for pretty much everything were jacked up. I remeber paying upto 6Lats ($10-11 for a drink in Fashion massageplanete!).

A words of advice....I rented an apartment because the hotels were overpriced and were pretty much not available due to the championship. This actually turned out to be a pretty good option. The apartments in the center are very modern, newly renovated and well furnished. I paid about Euros80 for a studio which was also on the high side but that was pretty much the best option available at the time.

In short, Riga is a beautiful city with tons of beautiful, hot girls everywhere you look. And they are very friendly. The only regret I have is not being able to spend more time there. Girls are very approachable. I spoke to a number of them in parks, on the street, in the malls etc. and some of them gave me their numbers...but its difficult to make use of them when you're there for a couple of days. I'm already starting to think about my next visit there!

Do you recommend renting a hotel room or apartment for the week? Also, should I primarily rely on calling the girls from the website to my place or go scouting around? Yes many people speak English in Riga. I've been there 3 times since November '05. The links are good, is very easy to have a girl come to your room. Stay away from the strip clubs in Old Town. Surprisingly, the nicest strip club Studio 69 is a bargain if you just want to go in and watch girls. Prices for drinks are 1 to 4 lats. http://www.studio69.lv The girls don't really hassle you and the prices are ok. You can check the price list on the site. But you are better off getting a girl from the internet sites listed in the previous post.

La Rocca is the club next to Studio 69. 5 lats to get in and about 1-2 lats for drinks. Its filled with the under 20 crowd. Loud music etc. Hooking up depends on your looks, age, attitude etc. August should be nice in Riga. Take the bus to Jurmala during the day to get some beach action. Its about 40 minutes away.

I have a bunch of friends in Riga now and we go to random bars outside of the city. At the russian bars lots of hot girls and zero tourists. I'm in Europe once a month and Riga is great. Make sure to let them know you are American. California is a real Novelty too. Lots of Brits on Stag parties (2.5 hour flight) and they are pretty much ignored by the regular girls.

One night I was walking around drunk and found a place with street walkers. It was very desolate, but noticed the girls were standing about 50 yards apart. Taxi's and cars would come by and "chat" looked like the place for locals to go on the cheap. Anyway if you head north down Briuvibas Iela and then right on Tallinas Iela. Well, the women in Riga are amazing, starting with the girl at the tourist bureau, continuing with the girls at the money exchange and continuing every 30 seconds for the rest of your stay. There is a curious combination of bright blue eyes with blonde to dark skin and hair.

On the street you will get plenty of women smile at you; all you have to do is smile back and chat a little. Sometimes they are pros, sometimes they are not. If they are pros they will let you know fairly quickly and ask between 25-40 Lats. A fair price, I would say.

Internet girls.- I first tried http://www.intimservis.lv but did not get anywhere. I called several girls but different phone numbers were being answered by the same person, who always had the same story: the girls I wanted was not available but she could send me other girls. After a while I found a better site http://www.ladylux.lv which I used for the rest of my visit. In all cases the phone was being answered by the featured girl herself, and over the next few days I ended up having 4 girls form that site. In all cases they were the photographs were accurate and the service was excellent. In all cases money was not even brought up until AFTER the deed was done, which is the way it should be. It was indeed the best paid sex of my life; they were all gorgeous (in Riga you could pick a girl at random and she would be gorgeous), seemed to enjoy it (good at their jobs) and usually up for anything: oral, anal, and vaginal. The prices ranged from 35 to 65 Lats, which was fine with me. I will not specify which girls I had because I assume they change often and because I am a little possessive. The girls were recruiters, and maybe they would have stayed with me, and maybe they would have ordered expensive drinks, but in Riga you can get laid for what I was going to pay in cover charges alone. I made it to the Voodoo club, which was not as good as I had expected. First of all, the sex ratio was all wrong. As I walked into the main room I saw several gorgeous club dancing girls and hordes of middle-aged businessmen ogling at them. There were a few other girls dancing and a few by the bar, but it was predominantly men. The second room was a little better, but the set up was all wrong, with the dance floor at one edge of the room instead of the middle. The middle area was occupied with tables and chairs. Dont pay more than 20-30 Ls per hour. THAT is the ACTULA rate in Riga if you are patient, negotiate, etc. Get a copy of "Riga this week" or "Riga in your pocket" (tourist guides/magazines). CONCLUSION - Do NOT discount the possibility of just picking up a girl for free or very cheap at a pub, disco, outdoor massageplanete, etc. If you are nice and friendly, anything can happen.
