I've gone there a couple of times, but it wasn't for the massage. They have bain flottant there. I have to say that laying weightless without hearing or seeing anything at all for an hour is VERY relaxing and gives me a boost of energy!

great massage

My first time ever. It is located in the corner of St-Denis and Beaubien.
It looks almost like a bank outside but when I walked in it was a surprise. The place ie very peaceful and clean. It smelled great too.

I know this place does not do extras, I was looking for a great massage.
I was served by an older blond woman. SHe was nothing special but her massage was great. She took her time and never cheated me one minute.
She told me many girls work there. I esepially loved the atmosphere.

This place is as good as Sherton Center downtown for pure professional massage.

Great massage and good location. Little bit more costly but it is worth it.

Ovarium Massage

Hi guys,

Just went there a week or so ago.
Had a sore back.

Price was 70$ for one full hour, not one minute under.
Very "zen", polite and competent female therapist.
Average looking, slim, and very classy.

Massage was top level, the best you can get.

For sore muscles, this place is a definite winner

It's on St-Laurent,north of hgw40.
Try Isabelle or Evelyne.
Both very beautiful,classy and skilled.
If tou're hooked,you can also try Carolyne.

I am one of those who prefer a legit massage over a happy ending massage any day. Therefore, I referred to this thread for guidance during my last trip for getting a massage.

While any professional therapist (female) will do the job, I am not one who complains if the female therapist happens to look pretty. In fact, it's like an added bonus.

With that thinking in mind, I set out to try Ovarium and Bliss during my last trip.

Based on my two experiences at Ovarium, I just don't know what happened to all those hot massage therapists that have been discussed previously at this place.

The two that I got were nothing special in terms of looks, although they were very nice therapists. Further, my canvassing the area while waiting for my massages resulted in no detection of any spectacularly looking female therapist.
Having said that, I am not sure if I would go to such distance from downtown for a massage. Heck, they even tack on the 15% sales tax for a service-related product, making it not so much of a bargain.

In my mind, there are cheaper legit places out there near downtown, and the qualiy is better IMO.

As for Bliss, while there were pictures of some of their therapists whom I found appealing, I happened not to see them when I was there. The ones I saw were just average in looks, although the massage was not bad.

This perspective is just based on my limited experiences thus far.

Did somebody had a ,massage at Ovarium by Anièce. I know her not personaly, from my teen age. I freind told me that she was a masseuse at Ovarium. I did not see her since 15 years, Back then she was a F.....g BABE. Now I don't know if she is still one.

i found out yesterday one of my friends went a few times and one day got a gift for a guy friend. when he came out he wasn't too happy. after the flip the masseus put a towel over his eyes and sfter five minutes he felt something wet on junior. the guy started a bj. he left and went to hospital to get testes and filed a police report. police mentioned that ovarium at least when it first opened was known to be a swingers place.

My experience with ******* ***** was spelendid. She is not too tall, tanned, great body...long straight hair...I would say in her mid or early 30s. She is welcoming...but somewhat distant. I think she takes her work seriously...but does not really engage in any conversations with the client...but that may be simply due to the fact that my French is not that great. Her massage was absolutely great...totally phased me out. But that is also because (as I mentioned before) you let yourself go completely since you know that no action will take place whatsoever. Truly therapeutic (body and mind).

We seem to be getting off track here.

This is supposed to be a thread about the service at Ovarium and how it compares to similar massage clinics.

It is not supposed to be about the merits of female massage vs male massages, and its not supposed to be personal.

Lets get back to sharing our experiences and thoughts on our favourite and not-so-favourite MPs.

Does anyone have more comments to share about Ovarium, Studio Bliss, or L'Absolu?

I don't really think you're an idiot, your points are valid but so was my question, That comment was the most direct way to present my point, I've been told I have about as much subtlety as a sledgehammer and I stick by it, wouldn't want to prove them wrong.

With that said, comparing gender preference in professional contexts to dietary preferences is like comparing apples and anvils, they both contain trace amounts of iron but I wouldn't eat the second one... no wait... that's not it... what was I trying to say again?

Ah yes, for someone to not want to eat meat, there is a perfectly rational and possibly physiological reason behind it, thus it would not equate to fear of any sort.

But in the case of gender preference in a professional context, fear can be a factor whether the person knows it or not. Thus by asking "what are you afraid of?" there is a possibility that the person will sit down and think. "Am I really afraid of something here? or do I have a perfectly rational reason for this decision?"

While I agree that women are more fun to watch, the purpose of a legitimate therapeutic massage is for you to close your eyes and relax to help your body return to it's natural state. For the full benefit of the massage to occur the person should be almost completely at rest. If you're craning your neck to watch your therapist at work your putting tension on muscles that he or she has or will be working on.

Aren't you passing judgment yourself with your comments on hockey, pool and fishing. I've met quit a few women who could whoop any guy's butt at pool.

In this particular context I have no preference, I've received from men and women and would not specifically pick one or the other. I also do not discriminate when giving massages; I've given massages all genders and sexual orientations, and almost all races in my training and will continue to do so as long they are respectful, paying customers.

West med: you always go for full body? While full body is great if you just want to relax, it's rather futile for getting the knots out properly since you can't really get any deep work done.

Then again that's just the opinion of an MT who's been trained to work in specifics

guy vs girl massage

Gee,

The only time I ever had a guy massage me was when I separated my shoulder and the physiotherapist administered "massotherapy" to aid in the healing. It was absolutely incredible "in that professional context" and I wouldn't hesitate to have another male massage my shoulder again.

When it comes to a full body massage however, right or wrong, I see it very differently. I go for a full body massage primarily to fall into deep relaxation and secondly to help some aching muscles after a particularly grueling workout or a weekend of deck building, etc. Personally, I would find it hard to relax if a guy were massaging my hamstrings and glutes. I know the intention would be purely professional and the guy would probably be unaware of any unease that I would be going through.
In my mind, intimate, relaxing and soothing touch is most natural between members of the opposite sex. Even more simply put, touching of the intimate areas even for medical reasons would seem less "weird" (to me) by a female. When I get to the age where a regular prostate check is part of the visit, I would prefer that it is done by a woman. On teh other hand, I do know some guys who feel the exact opposite...they want their "acorn-sized problem area" looked after by a fellow male.

All I know is that for me, I'd rather have a cute female getting the knots out of my lower back, glutes, hamstrings and quads more than a guy. I know it shouldn't matter...the best massage is the one that leaves you feeling the best afterwards but, unfortunately, gender does enter the equation for me.

Gee,

I guess we all have are own reasons, personally I just prefer the company of a woman. I've had massages by men before (some good some bad) in gyms and health clubs so there is no fear involved in my decision making (actually when my ex-wife left I considered becoming gay but I'm not a good enough dancer so they wouldn't let me in ). I also prefer woman waitresses, bartenders, hair dressers/barbers, doctors, lawyers, accountants, and obviously strippers.

Come to think of it ideally I want to be the only man around at most times

I'm guessing its a case similar to George costanza when he got a massage and "it moved" but I'd preffer to hear you state it in your own words.

As for the gay Jean-Guy comment, 1) why do you assume that a male massage therapist would be gay? 2) What difference would it make in a legitimate massage even IF you fell on a therapist that happened to be homosexual?

I can agree with SWO. I have been to all 3 mentioned above...and you go to these places with a slightly different approach.

Ovarium = high end pro massage...efficiency, care, classy atmosphere and a very broad range of clients.

Bliss = as they say "the coolest massage" in Montreal. Yes, all of the girls are attractive...but a wholesome attractive. Yoga believing, planet worshipping, healthy eating attractive. Massages are excellent. The place is nice...but caters to more narrow cleintele. Cool "Main" crowd.

L'Absolu = The hybrid. Gals tend towards the sexy side and give healthy massages that always seem to slightly verge on the sensual. I mean how far is she going to go on that inner thigh? No, you WON"T be relaxing 100%. One always has that "Am I going to get lucky today?" feeling. So the whole event is very pleasurable and somewhat playful. Great place indeed.

Thank you tactus ,I think I will try Danielle.But every time I went at Ovarium I was never satisfied.It was always too cold for me.Too clinical.The kind of (relax,I know what I'm doing).I like the humain approach,body,mind and soul .The Zen approach like Evelyne,Eliane,Jany, Emmanuelle and others at l'absolue.
Probably you've tried Isabelle or others that I've never tried because only her made me have other thaughts.It also can depend on how you personally act.
Good subject we're having here.
