you can try...i personally don't have private insurance so I wouldn't know.

I've done it before. I was laid off by a company but my insurance converage was active for the remainder of the calendar year after my termination. So I submitted a few claims that covered some of my door fees here. I wouldn't recommend doing this though even if you were in that position.
