LOL..You watch too much CBC I guess. it may be so for some eastern European spas and some Asian in call places. Never with Asian spas.
I deal with lots of Asian spas. Nobody at Asian spas are forced to work. Nobody has been trafficked . They all are working with their own free will, come and go as they please. I have seen sometimes some spa boss had to go on their knees and begging the girls to work more days. These girls drive much better cars than us and own better house than most of us. I know of a few girls who own 2 -3 houses and 2-3 condos. One of my close girl just bought a black brand new Porsche Macan cash for $96,000. Just go have a look at the back of QQ parking lot and you'll find what kind of cars some girls drive.

Foolish spending? Foolish spending is if you spend more than you make or more than you can afford, or spending with borrowed money on un necessary things, that's foolish spending.
