I was there yesterday. It's a state of "semi panic." The schools were closed and everyone was wearing a mask. But it was business as usual as far as sex tourism goes.

There are no reported cased in TJ. If the panic escalates the gov't might close the bars, but IMHO it's a case of "much ado about nothing."

Patient Zero was identified a week ago . Sad to say it was a child by the name of Edgar Hernandez. Happy to say he did not die.... Patient Zero is from La Gloria colony about 3000 + in population so research says. They all got sick but to what I have read are on way to recovery .

Haha.. No I won't go to TJ until it subsides. I know it's going to hurt like hell. But better to be safe than sorry. IMO, the reason why NYC has more cases than other US states is because of New Yorkers' life style. People in NYC are in close contact with other people on a daily basis. They ride commuter trains and also walk a lot instead of driving. This way, they can catch air-borne viruses from other people a lot easier than here in California.

personally i couldn't care less about h1n1. everybody gotta go sometime, and most of us don't get a choice in the matter anyway. i think that most people went with "SAFE THAN SORRY" if they are going to error, at least it was too much, rather than too little. if the mexican government hadn't taken the actions they did, the u.s. may have closed the boarder. what's worse 5 days no pay, or a closed boarder?

According to Dr Gupta from CNN, it's not the virus that's killing the people, it's the victim's disease fighting cells that are actually causing the severe damage in this case. I too have been worried but that is slowly recending to normal . The media got to me but caution is the best policy. My concerns were not only for health reasons but also business.

Since day one we have been on the Alley ( Yes , jeffee there are street girls there ) and from what I see there is " little " to " no " change . Sporatically some concerned individual will walk by with a surgical mask but masks are much more prevailant in States as witnessed the past two days. Yes " My Friend " masks are more accessible with a population that can afford in the States

The ladies are no less busy than they were before this mass hysteria and continue to buy their working garments as they have been doing for the past 4 months ; there has been no drop in sales.

These ladies are out every day waiting for what ever it is they are looking for ( $ ). Don't know how they do it standing on those platform shoes 10+ hours but they find a way.

If I may offer my primary concern, as it is unlikley anyone will be swapping spit for a day or two..... If you come take caution of the fork , spoon , etc ;
that you eat with may be even the glass you drink from. This is not a sterile invironment as buttressed by the swine flu and the fact that little is washed in HOT water

I think the entire World gave Mexico a bad rap for this flu....I can't say where it started, but local folks(Tijuana) seem to think it started in China.

Maybe closing down business for 5 days helped slow the spread or maybe it just is not as bad as the WHO let us believe. Mexico paid a big price as they needed to show the World that they were doing something to stop it. It came at a high price, and it is not like a whole Nation of people can afford to miss work for 5 days.

Our beloved Coahuila stayed open, and that should have been the first thing to be closed in Tijuana if they were taking this serious.

Plaza Rio closed its Cinepolis, however within 50 years is a big open air seforum.xxxe and they were having a free show there on Sunday and must have had 500 people packed in and around. The Cinepolis was closed to keep people from congregating together.

For the most part Tijuana business did not take the closures serious. Dorians was closed the 5 days as were the theaters, but I cannot think of one other non-Government business closed. Yes I can...New York Pizza closed....but Tony closes for anything.
