Huge adcovate for white vinegar! I use it for all sorts of stuff. Not only do I use it in the laundry, if you mix it half and half with distilled water it makes a great stain remover for carpet. I've gotten out red wine, spaghetti sauce and dog messes. I make my own cleaning products also, the chemicals in store-bought ones bother us too much. I use lots of white vinegar, baking soda, castile soap and tea tree oil. Works great.

As far as sheets, I got a bunch of the Eddie Bauer flannels someone posted about that were on sale at Linens N' Things. I have had no problems with them at all for some reason. All the other cheaper flannels I've gotten have eventually started to have an odor. Not sure why this is but there it is!

Whatever we used in school was nasty... someone suggested adding a cup of Lestoil (variation to pinesol) to the load every once in a while, I haven't had a problem with my sheets yet...

Someone in the class behind me borrowed the sheets the school gave us to do their first mock clinic... they were then to wash them and return them to me for my last day of clinic before graduation.
Apparently they added pinesol or something to them... because when I was making the table up for my clients I got a good whiff and nearly was knocked over by the smell of what they used. Not that I liked having rancid smelling sheets... but make sure the cure isn't worse than the symptom!
