Lagy, please don't take anything personal with this post. Boscorelli (18) has very good points. Truly, I'm not judging the age difference because it's none of my business. I know that I could not last long being involved in a May-December romance. However, I prefer relationships of 12 hours anyway.

Your post #16 makes sense. Vita active, live for the moment in terms of the relationship with her.
Lagy, you mentioned train wreck at dinner, did you give your friends any type of heads up of the age difference? Do you think that may have been helpful?
What do you think her motivation was in telling you? Was she confiding or provoking you?
ASP & PTSD in conjunction with The reptilian brain (fight or flight response) aren't good combinations for anyone.

The reptilian brain is basic instinct and survival motivated. Where were your basics or safety in-danger
Taken from the link above:
When you think of your "instincts" think, reptilian brain. It's responsible for our survival related functions like:
Lagy, you cognitively chose to find this individual and assault him. From the time you were told until the time you found this man, you had the choice to do or not to do. IMO that is where you errored. Now, you may be at the leisure of the Queen and have your freedom revoked, which you chose.
Lagy's rule in this scenario was reactive after the fact, without all the facts. Your assault was verified by you, but was hers verified by anyone. It's not that I disagree with something happening to him if he did hit her.
When I was young my parents encouraged and taught me, if someone hits you, hit them right back do not walk away and think about. You weren't there when the alleged incident occured.
I have lots of rules myself and one is in that type of situation get all the facts before I react. Now if something is happening right in front of me, that's different flight or fight response applies.
I'm not trying to judge you; however, it may seem that way; it's not the intent. My questions are all rhetorical in nature. What if you hit him, but he stabbed or shot you?
I wish you well with your train-wreck situation; we've all had something at one time or another, and if you do become at the leisure of her majesty, soap on a roap, keep your head up, stay to the right or follow the lines.
I chose not to vote.
