The return line to USA is long. The gangsters walk up to people waiting in line and ask them if they want to move to the front from $5 to $10 bucks.

The waiting returnee walks up to the front with the gang member and then another gang member places the returnee in the line.

No one complains or says anything usually and the returnee pays the money to the gang member.

It's quite comical b/c basically the returnee is renting the gang member to cut in line for them.

Asking them to call a taxi will result in a price of more than $7 to $10 generally as the hotel charges $7 to the taxis when calling.

Best to call your own taxi or to walk out and catch your own taxi.

Good way to skip through alot of the line: Go to the last little convenience store (closest to the border) and go in and buy something, then come out and just get in the line like you had been there the whole time, should save u a good amount of time

The line was backed up to the Michocana Ice cream and fruit stand at 7pm. Not sure how fast it moved....it can be 20 minutes or an hour when backed up that far.

Yeah long lines shouldn't be a problem any more even on a weekend day. I consider Friday as part of the weekend. I haven't been to TJ on a weekend in a while though.

Taking the red bus to TJ is a great option. There is a level of comfort. Coming back not so much of a good option because you might wait a while for the next one. Then the last bus leaves at a time where the pedestrian line should be running okay.

Took a trip out to TJ this last weekend, stayed at La Mansion. Nice motel, but has too many restrictions. First of all if you want to stay more than one day they put you another area of the motel in a room without their nice covered garages. Also you don't get a key to your room, they have to keep opening the room everytime you leave and come back (plus you need to leave them your drivers license). One night I asked them to call a taxi. It was taking quite a bit for the taxi to show up, next thing I know they were asking if they could send some chicas for my review. I think they called them instead. Didn't pick any of them (all FUGGLIES). Asked them again for the taxi, this time he arriveD in about 2 minutes. Don't think I will stay there again, too far away from the zona.
