Again this is a mathematical misunderstanding. Vaccines don't offer 100% protection. People who are fully vaccinated get infected at a massively lower rate than unvaccinated people. That is what the statistics show.

You can't pass on the virus if you don't get infected, and you have a massively less likely chance of becoming infected if you vaccinate.

If you are unfortunate enough to be fully vaccinated and still acquire covid, it does appear that this small group of infected people can pass on the virus, but those people are enormously less likely to be hospitalized or end up in the ICU

I admit I do not have a solution. And I am not saying this part about your opinion but what I am finding is many people who are pushing the vaccine seem to have a belief that everyone get the vaccine and then everything will be fine. The virus will magically disappear. Both sides of the argument seem to have fanatics that make it hard for a discussion to be had and proper investigation, analysis, and solutions to be brought forward. The fanatics who push the vaccine will not listen to other options and the fanatics who are against will not believe in the vaccine, there is no middle ground to meet and come together.

As for whether the vaccines will help, I think they have a part to play, but I think they really should be reserved for the most vulnerable as opposed to a one size fits all solution. I think people's natural immune system should also be taken into consideration. As the numbers show the most vulnerable are those over 70 as that is where over 80% of the deaths have occurred.

Vaccines are not the perfect solution and they certainly will not eradicate covid. Even so, they remain highly effective nevertheless and the very best tool we have at this present time. We should not let the perfect be the enemy of the good. Vaccines are the best imperfect solution we have available at the moment.

The problem with only vaccinating the most vulnerable is twofold: it makes covid much more endemic throughout society, which ultimately creates much greater risk for the most vulnerable, in addition to potentially overwhelming health systems; and even though the numbers are lower, covid still creates problems in terms of hospitalizations / long term health effects / ICUs / and even death for the under 70 crowd too.

Without mass vaccination all numbers for deaths, hospitalizations, etc. would be much worse. Even at the lower numbers we're at now it's still a major problem for society, which is why you're seeing business, organizations, etc. all push for mass vaccination as the best path forward we currently have at the moment.
