KOLKATA, India - A Bengal tiger snatched a man off a fishing boat in eastern India, dragging him away into a mangrove swamp as his children looked on in horror, the man's son said Friday.
The attack happened Thursday as Sushil Manjhi and his son and daughter were crab fishing in a stream in the Sunderbans National Park. The tiger leaped aboard the boat and clamped its jaws on Manjhi's neck, said Sushil's son, Jyotish.

OTTAWA - The Justice Department announced 13 new judicial appointments last week. Twelve of them were men — and the lone woman represented a promotion to a higher court, not a new face in the pool of judges.
The appointments came as controversy dogged Justice Minister Peter MacKay over a Toronto Star report about comments he reportedly made to a group of Ontario lawyers about women failing to apply to become judges.

On Friday, NDP Leader Thomas Mulcair called on Prime Minister Stephen Harper to strip MacKay of his Justice portfolio.
"It would be really appropriate for the prime minister to come up with somebody else for the job," Mulcair said in an interview.

I just read a thread where an sp was asking other ladies (think OP was an sp, but could be wrong) about their lady crushes on various celebrity women of the world. I smirked when I read some of the ladies metioning Angelina Jolie, for I think she is far from sexy.

Then I thought back to the countless '50 Most Beautiful People in the World' magazine publications that come out year after year, sprawled across the checkout lanes for all us 'average' people to peruse. I often disagree with what the magazine tries to promote as beauty.

So, my question to the tes is:

Which celebrities do you recall being proclaimed as beautiful that you think shouldn't receive such positive attention?

Personally I found Sex And The City utterly believable notwithstanding
SJP's horse face. For one thing there is no lack of desparate men in the

Oh god yes! What makes Julia Roberts stand out so much to me is because she's always labelled as a stunner, and I don't even find her mildly attractive. Nothing showcases my disbelief more than her introduction scene in Ocean's Eleven, where Matt Damon is practically jizzing his pants while she's coming down the escalator.

I think she's hot but had a male friend say he thought she was ugly - said she looked like a lion. (is that a good or bad thing?) It's hard for me to judge other women.

t's always difficult to make judgements on people we only see only through media images. The truth is, we don't really know what they look like, for better or worse. I saw Natalie Portman once at a Starbucks on Queen west, and Keira knightley at a Tiff party and they were both very beautiful, but I have seen anonymous women just as beautiful walking down the street.
