Certainly as a contender for the pile of shit GOP Presidential nomination in 2024 her statement is timely on the verge of a Trump trial verdict. It may make some of these slime GOP senators reconsider where their future may lie. The losers who invaded the capitol are already fleeing their rat infested sinking ship by saying they were just following fuck head Trump orders.

No it's not. It's just one of 1000 pieces of evidence. In toto I think the House managers make a very convincing case, but for many there is simply no amount of evidence that would ever suffice. Trump was prescient when he bragged about the rabid loyalty of his followers: "I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose any voters."

I suspect we would disagree about what makes a convincing case. But more to the point, ask yourself if you are willing to take the best case you can make against Trump, and then apply the exact same measures to everyone. Isn't that the point? Otherwise it really is just...(sorry)...a witchhunt.

Trump isn't being impeached for alleging the election was stolen. The accusation supporting impeachment is that he incited people to attempt a violent insurrection.

As for a difference in degree between what Democrats say and what Trump has said, you are right, you can't compare the two. The Democrats have been much worse, so I assume you'll be calling for them to be held accountable too. I can show you clips of Democrat politicians (and anti-Trump public figures) saying much worse than anything attributed to Trump. If Trump deserves to be impeached for telling people to "fight" for their country, then what about The Obamas telling Americans "their very lives" were at stake in this election? What about Maxine Waters telling people to accost Trump-supporting Republicans anywhere they find them? What about Pelosi saying she couldn't understand why more people are not out rioting and burning cities? What about Bernie Sanders stating that the Republican stance on health care would kill thousands? Let's not even try to count how many in the media over the last year have dismissed violent protest and assaults, or worse claimed them to be legitimate protest.

Public figures have a duty not to ratchet up the heat irresponsibly. Yes, Trump was stupid to say the things he did, but insurrection? I'm sorry, that's a total gaslighting of the public, and hypocritical to boot.

It's supposed to be based on facts prive to him as the CIC. When joe blow congressman or senator speak it's just another speech no one will ever know about. The big lie of Trump falsely claiming the election was "stolen" was the incitement. For myself threatening the foundations of democracy and having the Capitol overrun at the direction of the President are magnitudes more serious than anything else, but we have to be honest and accept neither one of us is going to convince the other.

For now I am buoyed that more and more Republicans themselves are speaking out about how terrible Trump is for their own party and the country at large, Nikki Haley being the very latest. No doubt Haley, McConnell, Cheney and many others are also all traitors, RINOs, sheepies, whatever. It will be very interesting to see how this debacle continues to play out for the Republicans...
