I think making use of the "degenerate" acts recorded on the laptop is kind of scuzzy. As far as I know, there are no accusations of Hunter Biden doing anything that was not consensual. That, and any excesses involving drugs would--in my books--be off limits. In other words, I could agree with the media NOT going after that.

Not so with the alleged illicit business dealings, for which a pretty good case could be made that there's at least an appearance of his father's involvement.

But even that is really beside the point. What depresses me is the astonishing hypocrisy of the media (and those it leads by the nose). No less a journalist than Leslie Stahl told Trump to his face before the election that the laptop "could not" be investigated. When he asked why, she had no good answer. Do those of you who are attacking Trump not recall that just a few months ago the establishment media was writing the laptop story off as a Russian plot? If you took that seriously then, how do you not feel betrayed now? How do you in your own minds work it out so that you can continue to give credence to a media that would treat you with such blatant disrespect? How do you now interpret the actions of Twitter and Facebook that censored a legitimate story before the election and punished those who tried to speak of it? I hate many Democrat policies, but if such a thing had been done to one of theirs, I'd be just as outraged. If history is written by the winners, i can only hope it looks back on this kind of thing with utter condemnation.

Oh, and this morning I actually left out the most extreme example of the current media sins. It is of course, The Chauvin trial. If you read just the current headlines, you would reasonably believe the prosecution is steamrolling the defense. The truth is very different. Unless the fix is in, the trial is not going well for the prosecution. I have never believed that those who say things that ratchet up the heat are actually legally responsible for any violence that ensues, unless they actually called for violence. But I see many that believe the opposite, for example those who blame Trump for the Jan 6 violence. On this story, the media's reporting is so bad that they're actually making me re-examine my principles. If Chauvin does not get major time, or is acquitted, the riots that follow will dwarf anything that's come before....and the media will have done much to stoke that reaction.

I agree. I hate when people’s private issues/stories are used and exposed by the media. But as we stand, the media in the US has no limits, even defaming when it’s in their narrative’s interests, ie. the Covington kids. Let’s not even get into the “Grab them by the pussy” tape.

So either everything should be allowed, including Hunter’s indiscretions, or none of it.
