If I were ever in that situation where a g/f were to reveal that part of her past to me, I'm not sure if I could overcome it, regardless of my emotional intelligence. I understand it's her past and that we all come to relationships with different stories and history, but it's just something like that is very difficult to look past.

Some might view this as controversial, but if a g/f of mine told me that she was in this business during her past and/or present, it also implies a certain character flaw for me. It reveals that when economic times are tough, the girl that I'm with would resort to this business rather than try to fight and work out of the situation. If our time together ever hit a rough patch economically, in the back of my mind there would be that thought that she might go back to her past.

I understand that this might be seen as a gross generalization and I don't claim to know anyone's reason for getting in the business, but it's very difficult to look past.

However, in order to pursue all these goals, you have taken a short-cut that many women would never take. A true genius would be a person who was able to all that while not taking the short-cuts.
