ALARMING : Mongering Alert !!!!
Got a call from a friend today saying that someone called him and taunted him for taking Bar Girls to a Hotel room. He threatened to expose him to his family. He knew his address. He presumes that the address was taken from his Driving License that he submitted at the hotel reception when he took the bar girl up to the room.

No information so far about whether this was a prank call or something serious. The guy who called has not demanded any money. He only threatened to expose him.

Any advise on how this can be handled?

Another questions that begs to be asked is how are the other experienced mongers handling this? Do you give your real IDs at the reception? Or do you use fake Ids?

Giving fake ID at reception is asking for trouble. Always submit correct ID., as in case of raid etc, you have not done anything illegal. As far as the phone call goes, next time he calls, ask him to join you (or your friend, as the case may be). If your friend is scared, he can get blackmailed.
In this case, I suspect, someone from the reception playing a prank on him. Ask him to relax.

Yesterday went there with friends. i was pleasantly surprised to see that the number of girls present were at least tenfold of the number they usually had. Many tables were full but not much money was being blown. Saw some famous chicks from erstwhile Uma Palace, working here. But in the crowd, all I could feel was a defeatist attitude. Asked a girl to dance and showered about 4k on her. So many girls crowded the floor in front of us that it was a pitiable sight. Left soon after. I did not feel the elated feeling one gets after visiting a OB. Just made me think.....if the fun times will ever return

Ideally here situation needs to be taken very calmly. It's a bit tricky after all but one thing is for sure that you can't get scared or else you are done.

Firstly, behave as if you are not the person he is looking out for. Secondly if the person knows that you are the right person then behave as if it's not a big deal. In fact say that this is not the first time ... Last week rajmahal bhi gaya tha, ja ukhad le. Talking with confidence takes nothing but will only make other person loose his confidence .. also avoid going to same hotel again.

I faced similar kind of issue but with video calling. They shared what's app number and I called up. Luckily my face was a bit covered. I got a call after half hour stating that my video is leaked over internet and I need to pay charges to remove it. Thodi der ke liye fati but then I said aur ek bana ke daal yeh baar aur badnam hona hai . He was like wife to rag karege apki and I said wo nahi hai abhi aayegi tab karna filhal kaamwali se kaam chala raha hu. He understood I m not the right guy to mess with and didn't called me again, but yeh ulta bhi ho sakta hai hence said tricky hai...but don't be scared at all.

I think Shikha has recently stopped going out for entry. Or maybe goes with only select individuals. I did not probe too deep.

I always use my real ID... it is an old, expired Drivers License with an old address.
I also deliberately give out an incorrect phone number... with just one digit off so that I don't have to make up a new one every time. This would reduce the chance of the scenario that happened with your friend.
