How was Van? I saw him in Montreal at the Bell Centre back in the mid 90's. Great musician and vocalist as always, but he was miserable as a showman. Had his back to the audience most of the time, almost no talking to the audience.

My wife (now-ex) and I were very disappointed...

I would have loved to have seen The Velvet Underground, Roxy Music, The Smiths, and The Temptations in their David Ruffin era!

I noticed this thread a while back and thought it was a strange combination of topics, but being a guitar player too, I'm glad I looked through it. My goodness you guys have (or have had) some beautiful vintage instruments. I own five guitars myself, but they are of humble stature in comparison to what you guys have shared here.

As for gifts for the ladies, I can't imagine circumstances where I'd feel motivated to gift an MP girl anything, I simply don't see anyone that regularly, but I did have the experience of gifting a civvy a while back and it was one of the best investments ever...for my cock.

The way I see it, their job isn’t an easy one contrary to the viewpoint of many here. What I give isn’t even a rounding error for me and if I can put a smile on someone’s face even for a minute or two it’s worth it for me.

I remember those. Never owned one but enjoyed playing a friends once in a while. I have a pro Takamine black 12 string. I call it the bitch. Beautiful sound but finicky to keep tuned. Nowadays they have pickups in them and you can emulate that sound and more with an effect pedal.
