I wonder if the haggling trait is brought in from outside?

I’m Canadian born European and the most embarrassing thing when I was a kid was when shopping with parents (especially mom) - she would haggle at the local grocery store or women’s shop or even worse at places like the bay. It was second nature to them, typical of their town across the Atlantic - but the next gen here in Canada doesn’t do it anymore generally.

Haggling has always been part of Canadian culture just only in certain industries.
Car deals, house deals, garage sales, etc.
But its always been either yes or no.
You don't go to the barber, mechanic,etc and ask to lower their price.
MPAs too at least imo. And I think their opinion too.

If your mechanic is independent and you're a regular customer, you may be able to negotiate.

My mechanic is independent. I first was going to his Father, now him. For decades now. They have always been fair and I have never once even considered asking him to lower the price on anything.
Imo that would be an insult.

As a business owner, I deal with people haggling all the time and from all walks of life. White "Canadian" people are not exempt. Indians and Asians in general are less aggressive with their bargaining because they feel less entitled, whites are often fueled by an entitlement from often getting what they want, so they tend to be more aggressive with their bargaining.

Bargaining is not exclusive to the industries or situations you mentioned, even professional services are subject to bargaining. For example, contractors, landscapers, etc... I think the only professionals you should not bargain with are lawyers, accountants and hookers. You will regret the discount when the quality of the work is subpar.

I don't blame her. The problem with these guys was they think they are smart and we are stupid paying too much for everything. They didn't realize no other race behave like them. They bargain shamelessly with girls sometimes I feel like telling the girls to tell them fcuk off and kick them out. I have seen and heard it all when I was doing reception and looking after some spas.

It is unfortunate that I must agree. It is shameful and makes all the men in those ethnic groups look terrible. The look on the ladies faces when the enter the door.....then the question in Chinese using the term "a cha". Out of every 10 that arrive 6 will try to barter and 2 you'll tell them to just leave. Worse is they come in pairs. I hate saying these things. But some are no problem or great guys and ladies look forward to seeing them. But that is the exception and not the rule.

He certainly does not own any spa, and I don't think we can call Krayjee a pimp because his involvement is not central or critical in the operations of any spa that he has interests in. He is like a mercenary satellite that orbits around a few spas and does piece work by shilling, posting advertisement, recruiting, poaching, and public relations. I have no doubt he gets paid more than just freebies and discounts, but I don't think he has what it takes to become a full fledged pimp.

A pimp wannabe? That is more accurate. Credit given where credit is due, if he is managing to profit from his "hobby," then that is an ideal situation for a lot of people in life. I just wouldn't put any credence on recommendations or advice from such a person who is so obviously compromised by a conflict of interest.

Heard many stories in the past on how brown ones always use an excuse to go to the bathroom but then take back door and disappear no tipping the attendant, or the annoying negotiation of tips, or not paying what they agreed to the attendant.

That's exactly what happened at JR . One young brown guy in his 30s agreed with Minnie for $70 tips for 2 SOG on his 90 minutes session. The guy just paid $40 and left. He shamelessly booked Minnie again the next week. Minnie refused to massage him and she got penalized $60 by the boss and rewarded the brown guy with free 90 minutes session. It happened again at CFF a few weeks later with another cheap ass who demanded HJ for $20 tip and complained at the front desk when Minnie refused. Finally she ended up quitting the biz.
The funny thing is now some guys are making up stories and complaining to the boss by email saying the girls were asking $80 tips for HJ and this and that and such hoping to get a free session..lol.
