Again, an ill-informed statment/judgement.

Other parlours are "raided" Reviewequently. However, once the authorities have seen that there are no trafficked girls, have no concerns regarding drugs/ firearms etc, then they leave. However these raids aren't sensational enough to make the newspapers so, so far as you are concerned they didnt happen. As it happens, I was informed of such an occassion only this morning !




I agree, and legalisation and regulation would help to remove such places, but that still does not mean that everyone should be tarred with the same brush.

This whole thread is not about what is good for the industry but how YOU made a sweeping statement based on two or three sensationalist stories in the press.

Your whole attitude and posts on this subject have changed dramatically since the new laws... all spawned Reviewom YOUR own paranoia !

Were you not "Reviewiendly" with a certain massage parlour owner when you first registered on this (LBB-YH) forum ?

Now, since there is a chance that YOU might actually be sharing an element of risk you dont want to know, yet you were happy when all the risk was taken by her ?

Having read all the above, analysed what has been said, my humble opinion is that the owners of the parlours probably have to cope with "looking over their shoulder" at all times. Criminal gangs will always want a slice of the action wherever they think they can get away with it - "Krays & Richardsons in London" ring any bells.
The location of parlours is an obvious problem for the bigots and hypocrites because like a lot of other aspects of trade, you will always have the NIMBY (not in my back yard), and I include planning applications for by-passes, new housing, new industrial areas etc etc etc.
With the 000's of parlours across the country which are not raided, either the locals are far more tolerant than those in Bury or there was some intelligence regarding criminal activity.
However, it is not for me to castigate the owners, the mp.nets that use it, the WG's that work there, as it is like a lot of our normal day lives - we just have to bite the bullet sometimes and move on.
I always try to look at both sides of a topic and assess the pros and cons of the debate.

Jacqui Smith (bleaugh!!!) was quoted on the BBC about new laws making it a criminal offence to pay for sex with a woman who has been coerced into working as a prostitute (ignorence of her situation being no defence).

That's a heck of a law. Define being "coerced into work" - I could say that I'm coerced into work to pay the rent!

Luckily Jacqui won't be making the rules any more!
