In my opinion whether they are 18 or 40 when they decide to escort - most of them have not had a gun held to their heads forcing them to do this - it's the lure of money for minimal work at a young age that keeps them wanting to escort. You can find a copy in the reference section of most any library, or you can buy your own copy (like I did) from most any bookstore and certainly the UBC Bookstore. Or, if you would rather save your cash for something else, look up the CCC on the fed. gov't. website.

Then you can check out section 150.1 for the age of consent, and exactly what consent means.

Hey buddy.... that is not the applicable section......you are providing false and misleading legal advise that cannot be relied upon.......look up s.212(4) of the Criminal Code of Canada which states....its an indictable offence to obtain for consideration sexual services of a person who is under the age of 18 and punishable to a term of imprisionment not exceeding five years.....and trust me...both LE and the courts have little forgiveness regarding this offence......jail is pretty much automatic.....and with respect to a mistake regarding age....the law imposes a due diligence to ensure that you are not engaging an underaged prostitute....in other words....its your responsibility to ensure that the sp is 18 years or older.....

Hey Old farter, I think my post came off a little more negative than I intended. I saw her and really liked her. I think she is a sweet heart. Actually, the age of consent is 14 or 15(?). The Conservatives have been making noises about raising it to 16. Unless it can be demonstrated that you were in a position of power (boss, teacher, parent (ugh!!) etc.), you are OK.

I am not sure if you are in a position of power if you are a customer and she is an SP - might want to check with a lawyer. However, if you meet a 16 year old at a party, you are good to go.
