A message from Pamela of Blue Topaz

There are a number of rumours circulating about the events that occurred at Blue Topaz. I would like to address and hopefully quash them.
One of the other women working at Blue Topaz was charged and as a result I, as the owner, was charged with keeping a bawdy house. I was never arrested nor did I spend the night in jail. There were absolutely no drugs involved. I was told that LE focused on my business on the basis of a complaint from someone within the industry. I voluntarily closed Blue Topaz because I felt that neither my clients nor I would be able to feel comfortable there right now.

A note to my clients: My pricing has returned to what it previously was when I was working solo.

I just received a message myself, from Pam, asking me to post a similar post.
Everything is back to normal, the reason that Blue Topaz was shut down, was that 1 of the other girls was charged, after being investigated for some time.
Pam was never charged, only complicated in the fact that she owned the business. There was no time spent in jail, no, the swat team did not arrive and there were no drugs involved.
She was advised, that it would be best that the establishment (Blue Topaz) be shut down.
It is jealousy, from within the industry, that this happened.
She would like to say to all her past clients and new ones, come by and she me.
I, for one was very happy to her from her and happy that everything is back to normal.

That is totally true.....one of the girls is ratting out all the others....I know exactly which girl in one case but I'm not sure she's the same one who got Blue Topaz in trouble.

HILARIOUS...You guys are all way off...This is Calgary RedNeck Ville... Shops are busted constantly irregardless of drugs, bad girls, soliciting...ect. Like hello almost every shop in the city has been busted at least once if not twice. They do not want ANY prostitution, massage, escort, lapdancing, stripping (if they could stop that) in this city. We have more cops (and now lucky us two helicopters)in this city than most provinces...and of course not a big enough city with not enough real crime to keep them busy. It's mostly a political push from all of the church going bible thumpers in the city that are too narrow minded to see the benefits and preventions that these services provide, also a big push from people in our own industry. All it takes is one complaint...the client who didn't get what he wanted, the guy who was shorted 10mins off his massage, the girl who was ignorant in the room and buddy leaves pissed off, the staff who didn't get commissions, the other shop owner who is jealous of the other one who is busier, ect. The big picture is all of you and all of us in the massage business should be working together to keep quiet, stop complaining, stop giving shotty service, stop being jealous and ratting on one another (because Karma is a bitch), and if you don't get what you want go somewhere else instead of calling in the complaints....because what happens inevitably is we are destroying are own employment opportunities (because when a shop is busted it is nooooooo longer allowed to be run or open by that owner...it's stated in the bylaws), you will have less studios to choose from. We have less places to work, freaks girls out so less staff to choose from. We get stressed because we have to take on more shifts for the staff that leaves, no new faces because anyone with brains wouldn't bother entering this line of work after all the negative media and personal crap they hear. Shops are quieter because it's the same old, same old staff, shops quiet down for 3 months after a bust wich of course makes moral low and your lovely massuese turns into a bit of a bitch and of course the police sitting back and laughing because they are seeing and getting the results they wanted. Waiting for the next complaint from the disgruntled staff or the jealous owner or the idiot who client who had 10 bucks and wanted a massage...laughing because we do their job for them, we open the door by not being a tight knit group... and they get to come in for the next six months use tax payers money to have their special massage 4 or 10 times within the investigation and then they get us for running a common bawdy house or for being an inmate to one....Each investigation is 80 to $180,000 (their massages included in that ) that comes out of all of our pockets too... the city bylaws get us because we are NO longer allowed to work out of that location or be on the premises(of course less studios)...and then once again were all freaking out...and the retarded cycle starts all over again....Ah mabye we can learn from our mistakes and change the cycle a bit that would be nice P.S. wish me luck cause im sure if the police read this they are gonna really hate my guts but someone had to say it

The MP scene isn't perfect. Calgary's isn't the best and it sure the hell isn't the worse.

LMAO You must be a chick...read the post again brighty and figure out what the message is....has nothing to do with not liking Calgary what so ever, has to do with the people who enjoy and work in the industry keeping things more Kosher and keeping the industry around and alive....

I agree with you 100%, MERCEDES. The Calgary City Council and the Calgary Police Service are unbelievably hypocritical when it comes to this topic. They gladly license Escort Agencies and Massage Parlous, knowing full well what goes on in there. They greedily accept the licensing fees and taxes from these business, knowing full well that they are "living off the avails of prostitution". They know full well that they will NEVER be able to completely rid a large city of prostitution, and escort agencies and massage parlours are much more beneficial alternatives to street walkers.

Yet, when they feel the pressure from the religious right in this city, they bust down the very businesses that they licensed a few months ago. They do NOT do this to serve or protect society. Forcing the girls and the johns to the street does NOTHING to protect anybody, and creates a much more dangerous atmosphere to all involved. They do it as a publicity stunt, and ALWAYS make sure that the media is notified whenever they make a bust on one of these businesses.

As for the useless twits that suggest you "move somewhere else" when you complain about something, I guess ignorance is bliss. Calgary IS a great place to live, but there is ALWAYS room for improvement, and in this aspect of Calgary's society, there is LOTS of room for improvement. Sticking your head in the sand with the attitude "if you don't like it, then leave", rather than trying to improve things, is more than a little bit rediculous.
