Reiki conflicts with MY beliefs as a Christian.Maybe yours 2

Have you ever been with anyone and felt a strong urge to pray for them? So it is with Reiki. I can only tell you from my own experience. I have been a Christian for as long as I can remember. I have always trusted God to guide me throughout my life and he has always been there for me. He brought Reiki into my life just when it was supposed to be there at a time I needed it and was meant to use it. On a regular basis he brings people across my path who need it also. I can be working on a client doing bodywork and the Reiki will just start to flow a symbol may appear in my mind or I may feel it on my hands. That gives me some insight as to how to focus so that person receives what they need. Sometimes I know what they need, other times I do not, just that they need to feel whatever they receive. One thing is clear. They always know where it comes from. Sometimes I can place my hand on someone and the words they need to hear come out of my mouth. Where do you think that comes from if not God.
Reiki is a most treasured gift. You have been given that gift for a reason. As yet you are unclear as to its purpose. Maybe even feel a little guilty that you are not sure about it. Pray about it. When the time is right you will know and it will become clear to you. Reiki did not come into your life by mistake.

Fundamentally, Akaechmeister, if you have doubts about Reiki because of the use of the symbols, then perhaps you should consider some other form of energy healing, which does not rely on these symbols. Quantum Touch is one - see http://www.quantumtouch.com.

Personally, I would have problems with Reiki and my faith, but I do not with Quantum Touch. However, faith is yours to search and seek: my journey may not be yours.

You certainly lost me when you called the symbols BS.

Anything that endures as long as Reiki has endured is not BS.

It was disrespectful.

Blessings on your path. Each person must choose how they will serve as a healing facilitator. If you have problems with Reiki, I'd suggest not using it. I'd also suggest not bashing it.

Askahealer you are so right!! If you don't believe in something then don't bash it. That is negative energy when one does that.

I was explaining to my friend's daughter about going to a full moon meditation and the mother asked me if there were Wiccan's there. Like that was something bad. There were people of all faiths and beliefs there.

It is so sad to see or hear someone that has a closed mind or is too scared to explore what is out there. Open the mind and butterflies and ladybugs will play around you.

I guess I got a baptism by fire in the way of tolerance when I help to run a spiritual center that was open to all faiths, for about seven years.

I found out that I was not without my own prejudice or judgments and it was a strong lesson in embracing the truth I find in other paths, whether or not I walk those paths myself.

Whatever we say, even whatever we think, has an impact on our universe so I'd like my impact to be as loving as possible.

None of the paths I've ever shared walking on with others has been
BS, including the fundamental Christian path and I feel blessed to have been exposed to so many different ways to pray and worship.
