Why wont my boyfriend introduce me to his family?

Whats the normal time frame for your partner to introduce you to their family? Ive been with my boyfriend for 2 years now and he has met my family but he wont let me meet his. He has a muslim family but they know about me, they have even seen me in the car with him but he still wont take me home. I feel a little insulted.

Kelly, you know what this means. This man has no intention of marrying you, EVER. You've just invested two years for nothing. If you want to go for three, have at it. But, if what you eventually want is marriage and a family, show this guy the door NOW.

They probably wouldn't approve of you being with him and he already knows it. He probably thinks they'll insult you. He knows his family best. Family can be brutal. If you're not Muslim that could very well be the reason they don't like you without meeting you. Assuming things are serious based on how long you've been together... it might be wise to at least understand the religion if you want to entertain the idea of marriage.

Well, for strict Muslims, the rule is actually that if that guy or girl actually been together, they have to marry. But this is a modern world, so I believe they won't do anything like that anymore. But, there are possible reasons that a guy won't bring you to meet his family:

1. He felt embarrassed of his family.
2. He think you'll embarrass him.
3. He thinks you're not prepare.
4. His family actually denies this relationship.
5. He doesn't love you anymore.
6. He thinks its not necessary to meet his family members.

But actually, both should bring their partners to meet the family. Ask him straight in the face! That's the best way to get the answer without thinking too much.....

muslims are extremely traditional and wont like one of their children dating someone who is not muslim. you probably wont be welcomed into their family if you are not a muslim. thats why he doesnt want to take you into his house. i wouldnt want to waste my time with someone whos family wont accept me it will alwayz end up badly.

I would have to go with KennyG on this one. Don't feel offended. If a guy, any guys spent 2 years of his life together with you, it isn't called wasting your time. Trust me, anything that goes beyond 2 weeks is a serious relationship for a guy. Then again no relationship is a serious relationship for a guy.

The issue with your boyfriend seems to be that he's trying to avoid a conflict. Maybe his parents don't approve of you, maybe he was forbidden to bring you to his home. Muslims are like that sometimes. And maybe, just maybe he didn't want to talk to you about this because he didn't want you to feel offended by his family's attitude or oppinions about non-muslims. Which you still got, offended that is, in the end.

Try to put yourself in his shoes a little and see the picture through his eyes.

You shouldn't feel that way. Actually, he may be trying to PREVENT you from feeling insulted. His parents have old-fashioned values, and they want their son to marry an Islamic girl. Chances are that when you are in their presence you will begin to notice some obvious disdain on their part. Don't forget...according to the Koran you are an infidel! Do you know how the Koran regards infidels?
