Me and my husband are getting a 90 minute couples masage today. Why should I tip the massage therapists? I mean I tip waiters and food delivery people because they don't get paid crap and live off of their tips, but massage therapists get paid just like anyone else. I don't get tipped for doing my job, why should they be tipped for doing their job? They are getting paid to do it.$160 at that! It is a company but if they have to pay for their rooms than that's on them, not me. We are paying almost $60 an hour, so take into consideration they have to pay a 50% fee to their business that is still $30 an hour, and that doesn't deserve a tip to me. What do you think?
There's also just a general rule that you tip for services, in my opinion I PAY for services, so why the hell tip too? If you tip for services you would tip the clerck at the checkout at the store, the day care workers, the people who repair damages on your car or your house etc.... isn't that why we are charged a fee? Because we PAY for it?
