The name of White Rock is from the local Semiahmoo indians who had a legend about a hero who threw a white rock across the bay and it landed there. There is a rock that does get painted white, but that is not the origin of the name.

This may be a little off topic, but not entirely. In my many trips to China, I have had the opportunity to visit the Chinese equivalent of the AMP. They are often called BBS, which stand for BarBerShops. Many have a red and white pole at the door, but there are no hair cutting services offered. Although, the pubes do tend to get a bit burned and shortened from the friction.

There are some shops where us white guys are not welcomed. Not that many, but some. They are afraid of our size, or have heard that our race is the one carrying HIV(the true perception of a few). I have learned to spot these shops, or the girls in other shops that do not want my company, and I have learned to recognize the look that says "go away". I know that if I partake anyway, it will be a lousy time.

But for every girl that does not want my company, there is another one or two that is curious to try a foreigner. A couple of times, I have been her first white guy, or at least she convinced me that I was. The more curious the look in her eyes, the better the experience.

A lot of the girls are around 19, and I have been lucky enough to spend time with a lots of 8's or 9's. The cost for an hour of her company? One green. The memeories I still have, priceless.

One big problem in shanghai is that lots of girls will use a mickey finn (drug you) and take everything. Money, credit cards, passport, etc.

Be careful and don't take the drinks they offer you.
