Which US war introduced a new way of fighting?

Well the American Revolution was largely asymmetric and was fought using many guerilla tactics. The many American-Indian wars was quite unique as well and saw many raiding and attack on resources occuring by both sides (notably the slaughter of herds of buffalo, the chief economy for the plains indians). WWI saw the introduction of trench warfare and submarine warfare. WWII introduced many innovations or "improvements" to warfare including carrier fleet actions, mechanized warfare, strategic bombardment, nuclear warfare, and all kinds of other goodies.

Your going to need to be way more specific, virtually every single war throughout history the way the US military fights has changed. Ex. the technology used, the way the technology is used, the way the Chain of Command works, specific fighting techniques, enlisted roles, officer roles, warrant officer roles (and whether or not the branch had them), deployment methods, airlift methods, politics of war, I could go on all day. To list the changes in the way the military operates from Desert shield to Desert storm could be a book itself.
