When should I introduce my kitten to my older cat?

I recently rescued a female feral kitten that I captured from the outdoors yesterday and I have been keeping her in a spare room with a bed and litter box. I have an older cat that is a female, 9 years old and extremely bad tempered. My older cat is declawed but, she can bite really hard and she is quite muscular. She typically doesn't like other cats. I know I will have to supervise them when they are being introduced but, when should I introduce them?
