When is a good time to introduce the kid(s)?

I just started dating a guy (we've gone out on 2 dates so far) and I was wondering when was a good time to introduce the kids (he has one, I have one). Should we do one big meeting or meet children separately? This is the first time I've dated since my divorce and I don't really know how these things work.

I don't really plan on introducing him as a boyfriend until I know we're serious but it'd be nice for my daughter to meet mommy's friend sometime as we'll be spending time together.
Youre right, I hadnt really thought about if I dated multiple guys and meeting lots of mommy's friends. It's definitely best to wait on that.

I'm sure this means you two are fairly serious... If not, just don't. Last thing kids need in a split family situation is to have to meet Mom's numerous "friends."

That being said... If there is a dad in the picture, communicate with him first. Maybe even introduce him to your new beau first. Same goes for your boyfriend, meet his baby-momma.
When comes to the kids, one on one situations work better. More attention can be given then. Don't expect things to be peachy. First meeting should go well. Once they kids begin to realize the relationship might last and Mom and Dad aren't getting back together, expect some resistence. Just remember when that happens, you deal with yours while he deals with his.

it's much too early for her to meet him and his kid.

I'd wait until you're exclusive with him and then each of you meet the children before you throw your kids together.

I say to save the meeting until you're exclusive because if you introduce him as "mommy's friend" and your kid is in the habit of meeting all of "mommy's friends" then your kid never really gets it when s/he meets someone you think is special. But if your kid is only meeting someone you are exclusive with then your kid knows right away that s/he's meeting someone special.

and I say have the adults meet the kids before you introduce the kids to each other because it puts less pressure on the kids & doesn't overwhelm them to be meeting all these new people at once.
