There are so many KMPs in NYC that each one will resort to underground tactics to have an competitive edge over another. How is an FYI thread different from an advertisement? Both provide information about an establishment or providers and contact info. It can and has been used to bypass paying advertisement fees but still let members know about a place or providers.

There are some FYI threads that are useful. For example, letting us know a provider has retire or there is a sting or places to avoid. But lately, certain members have abused the creation of FYI threads to the extent of providing free advertisements for places they "worked" for.

If a member has useful information about an establishment or provider, it can easily be inserted into review threads; there is no need to start a FYI thread.

Perhaps FYI threads should be abolished or only created by paid advertisers, not members with secret agendas.
