When can you stop introducing food to a baby slowly?

At what point can you start giving a baby food without waiting 5-7 days to start a new food?
Diet C---my mom does have a bad food allergy to mushrooms. She has to carry around a syringe she sticks in her leg if the reaction is bad. Does that mean I should only watch my daughter for mushroom allergies or allergies in general?
Diet C--- I'm not sure but I can ask and let you know. I know its so bad that if someone was making a dish with mushrooms and one without but used the same spoon to stir both she would have a reaction.

Tamara K--- I do breastfeed and I have mushrooms all the time (my husband and I love them). That's interesting about finding them in your sons diaper, i'll have to keep that in mind. I would be very odd to change her and find mushrooms in her diaper!
Diet C---- She had an allergic reaction the first time she had a mushroom which was in her early 20's. She also said that her reaction to mushrooms has gotten worse since that first time.
My husband and I do not have any food allergies though so hopefully our daughter won't have any either.
