What is the proper way to introduce yourself to new neighbors?

-Do you wait until you see them outside?
-Can you go knock on the door?
-Do you need to have muffins, cookies, brownies, or other?
-Do you need a housewarming gift?

i always wait until i see them outside. Actually they usually introduce themselves but whatever. They always say, "Hi! i just moved in over there *points in direction of where they live* My name's _______ and my husband/wife is ___________, And you are?"

Every time I've moved and every time someone new has moved in by me, I just waited until I saw them outside. I could really care less if I meet my new neighbors; it causes too many problems if things get on a friend/personal level, specially living in apartments.

It just depends though, if you knock on their door with cookies it surely shows a sign that you're welcoming them. But if you do, don't linger unless they ask you to stay. You don't want to intrude or give them the wrong idea if you are a private person.

I personally would just wait until they are outside to greet them. It's less personal and intrusive if you ask me society is different than it was before unfortunately.

When a new neighbors moved to our building, we went to their house and gave them homemade cookies.

If you want to, you can just try to be nice and go to their house with some homemade cookies and just say, "Welcome to the neighborhood, I'm (your name here). If you have any questions about where to find anything, feel free! I live right at (your address here)."

But then again you don't want to be too helpful and seem kinda annoying. Be nice, but not too "in their face." Just go up to their door and knock and try some of my tips.

Whenever I have had new neighbors, I wait for a couple days after the move then take over a Welcome card and a batch of flowers/fruit/baked goods-depends on season.

I would wait until I saw them outside. Some people like privacy and find it annoying and offensive when neighbors come nocking at their door with food and being all nosy. I would just be patient and wait.
