What is the best way to introduce yourself to a girl you don't know on Facebook?

I saw a girl I was interested in on a dating site. The problem is that the dating site is pretty expensive, and the other person has to be a member to even reply. So I was using my friends computer and he saw her profile up on the screen and asked me how I knew her because he knows her. I put her name in Facebook and her profile popped up. We have 5 friends in common. Whats the best way to introduce myself without coming across as creepy because I don't want her to think I was stalking her or something lol.

I can either just PM her without doing a friend request and say that I saw her profile on a website and my friend told me to look her up on Facebook
or
I can ask one of my mutual friends to introduce me to her online, but that is awkward.

1. Find out what groups she appears in, join the group then comment on her group comments and strike up a conversation.

2. Stop being cheap and cough up the dough. Consider the fact that she's already paying regularly for this service. Where do you think you're gonna take her for dates and outings during courtship? If you don't have a high level of disposable income you aren't in a position to have a steady girlfriend. Not through any fault of your own, you just can't afford this girl. There are TONS of GREAT girls that can go to libraries, museums, and love cheap dining dives. I have a limit, you have a limit, she even has a limit, we all have a limit to what we are willing to invest in a relationship (even at the start!)

Think you are way over complicating, u have 5 friends in common shell ok u without even thinkin about it specially if she already has a lot of friends. But if u want to start a conversation then go for the classics. Give her a compliment on her pic or web page, or break Ice wit a funny corny joke. Remember it's easy to start a conversation wit a girl harder to keep it going
