I'm 19, and my boyfriend and I are going to have sex for the first time soon. Were both definitely ready and really love each other, so if you're going to say not to do it, please don't answer, I really don't want to hear it.
Will it really be as painful for me (the girl) as people say? Should we do it over a towel or something? What's the most comfortable position? Other general tips?

We will use protection and be safe about it. Were just two virgins in love who need a little bit of guidance before we do this.

I can NOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH - make sure he fingers you and plays with you before you start having sex. Actually, make sure he fingers you many times before your first time. WHY you ask? Because you're a virgin, and you'll be VERY tight, too tight to actually take him at first. Therefore, it will hurt a little.

This is what I advice him to do: i'm not trying to be all descriptive and weird but this will help you,

let him finger you with one finger, and as you stretch, let him try two, and then maybe he can try to get three in. If he can do this successfully, then you will be able to take his penis with NO problem.

Just make sure he fingers you RIGHT before he enters you. You want to make sure you are extremely wet and lubricated. If you are wet, IT WON'T HURT even a bit.
