warming cream

my cream is TOO COLD!!! lol..i have tried EVERYTHING to warm that baby up..i have put it in front of my space heater to warm it before a client gets there but it cools off real fast..i have a baby bottle warmer , i have filled it with a little bit of water and put a dixie cup with cream in it and it wants to tip over in the warmer etc..a mess..any ideas? and of course we all know it melts if you get it too hot...thanks for your input.. :

I put mine in the microwave if i've accidently left it on the window sill.  Though of course it's like butter, you've got to put it in for the right amount of time or like you said, it's melted.  I usually hit it for about 11 seconds.  Works great....although be sure to stir it so there are not "hot spots".  I always heat my hands up in the bathroom with the dryer so that way, at least my hands are nice and warm...it helps warm the lotion before I put it on too.  What kind of creme do you use?  I use Biotone's Nutra Naturals and I totally love it!

Have you seen the Hot Strokes holster in the massage magazines?  It's an insulated holster with a battery pack and a dial to adjust the temperature!What is room temperature like where you're working?  Could it be that the room is just too cold?  Can you turn up the heat?Katykangaroo

hi everyone,  Well, I keep my room pretty toasty by using a space heater..the building itself is chilly tho..sometimes i hold my hands over a lit candle to warm them for a few moments however, I know the cream isnt nice and warm when i apply it..  yes, i have seen those holsters..good idea.and nuking it in the microwave and then putting it in the holster may be a good idea..  oh, and right now I am using Soma silk and I like it quite a bit...

Good suggestions.I also have this problem and have tried many things.  The only thing that I find works is to use a radiant heater (not one with a fan) and I warm the cream in front of it once the cream is on my hands.My room stays warm, but outside the massage room is usually a little cold.  As soon as I step out of the warmth, my hands are cold again.  I wear a fleece shirt over my regular shirt and take it off once I am in the massage room.  It helps, but I usually don't get warm till after I start working.I looked into those heated holsters, but they only seem to hold an 8 oz. pump.  I sure wouldn't want to have to get the cream into that type of pump.  They also don't seem to offer a holster big enough to hold my 15oz. cream pump.   I will have to try microwaving it and see how that works.

I warm my lotion by putting it in the roaster between the warm towels for a few minutes before the client arrives.  It gets a little runny sometimes, but I shake it and it seems to work fine.  It is warm, but not too hot to use.

Have you tried a baby bottle warmer?   You can buy one at Walmart for $15.00.  Also I find oil warms up the skin faster than cream.

I have a candle in my room and i put my hands over it with the oil/lotion/cream in them and it quickly warms up.you can have one at either end of the room.

I use a miniature crock pot to keep both cream and oil warm.  Works great.

Use a ceramic crock or a small juice glass instead of a dixie cup. Neither of these would tip over, and they're both sold in kitchen supply stores. Also, I wouldn't worry about "melting the cream". It doesn't hurt the cream nor change its effectiveness during the massage. It just makes it easier to spread, which I think is an added benefit to warming cream.
