Vienna, Austria - Wolfgang Schwarz, who won a figure skating gold at the 1968 Olympics, pleaded not guilty on Thursday to charges of procuration and trade with prostitutes, a judge said.
Schwarz, 58, is accused of bringing two Lithuanian women to Austria in 2004 for prostitution work and of trying to pocket part of their pay. He also is charged with getting another foreign woman a job at a bordello and demanding a cut of her earnings.
The trial was adjourned until December, judge Martina Krainz said.
Schwarz was convicted on similar charges in 2002.
Back then, Schwarz admitted having brought five women from Russia and Lithuania to Austria to work as prostitutes, but insisted he had done it only to help the women. The court found that Schwarz took most of the money the women earned.
He was sentenced to a year and a half in jail, but the sentence was postponed because Schwarz was suffering from side effects of treatment for skin cancer.
