(1) Visit happycow.net It's pretty much my favourite resource for restaurants and recipes that adhere to the vegetarian/vegan diet.
(2) Transition gently. Do it over a period of time, not just "I AM VEGAN TODAY" because doing the latter can easily shock your body and nearly force you to break the diet.
(3) Check your local stores (do you have a Martin's or Kroger near you? They're great for vegans) for organic sections that could include plenty of food ingredients, additives, vitamins, snacks, cakes, etc. that fit the vegan diet.
(4) Tofu, mayne. If you haven't tried tofu, try it. If you don't like it, you made it wrong. If you make it right and still don't like it, add some Bragg's Amino Acids.
(5) Bragg's Amino Spray. It sounds like some concoction from a mad scientist's lab but it's actually "Instant Delcious" in a spray bottle. You can find it at many supermarkets. Spray it on everything. Spray it on tofu, you'll love it. Spray it on rice, you'll love it. Spray it on ice cream, you'll love it. Spray it on your little brother, you'll..well, it can't fix sibling squabbles but you get the idea.
