Tree braids vs invisible micros Newbie needs help ?

I rarely wear weave and when I do I just use clip ins. I'm thinking of getting braids for the summer. I've never had braids but I want something low maintenance and protective to my real hair. I've had sew ins break my hair off but I loved the look of it. Friends have told me to get "invisible micros" and others have said "tree braids".
Which do you think would better fit my needs?
What is an good price to pay for getting it done?
Which will be easier on my real (relaxed) hair?
Also if anyone knows a good salon that offers this in milwaukee, wi I would appreciate it.
