Tips to introduce guinea pigs?

Heey guys. So for my birthday I really want another guinea pig and shhhhh I think Im gonna get one ) I have one already and she will have been living with us for three months and she'll be five months old. I know what to do but I'd like to know ALOT more like Im' so scared they will fight.

should i buy a cage to keep them seperated for the first couple days?

its a good idea that your getting another guinea pig because they need to be in pairs because they are social animals, sometimes if your lucky, they will be fine together in the cage that you have now, and they will just get along, but i would probably if you can get a new cage so its new to both of them and put them in their together, the reason being, your current guinea pig already feels like the cage it is in now is its home and may not like that there is another guinea pig, but this may not happen. just make sure to put two of everything, two food bowls and two water bowls/bottles, this way their is no fighting over food. i think two females should get along fine anyway.

First you can put there cage 10 feet from another so they can smell each other at a safe distance. Never put them next to each other or into each other's cage yet because they will get territorial and fight. The best option is to put them in a neutral place like a bathtub and let them get to know each other. If they fight, use gloves and break them up and put them away until the next dy. Keep putting them together until they have no problem with each other. Than completely clean out the cage you are going to have both of them in with diluted bleach so the scent of the guinea pig isn't there. Put them together and see what happens. There may be a little tussling to establish order but no blood no foul. Just make sure they are bother getting food and water and you should have two happy healthy piggies.

Just introduce them in an open area in case you need to break them up.. feed them, water them, then after they are out in the open together for a while put them in their cage and see how the do!

Females can live together but they can (just like males) become territorial towards one another. They can be put together right away so they get used to each other. If they do seem annoyed by one another put them in separate cages next to one another. Also you can stack them safely on top of one another with twisty ties (which can be found in grocery stores) attach them to the sides tightly.
