Tipping at Swan Lake - oceanic

I think the other thread should be closed....so here is a new one.

Oceanic, tipping $120 is the minimum....but if you like the service, and you feel confortable tipping more then please do so. The SP make their living off of your tips....we should show our appreciation when ever possible.

Also you should tip a minimum of $150 if you ask for an hour and a half (2 sessions).

How about this, we tip what we feel we should tip or are asked to, assuming it is reasonable and in-line with the service.

I agree with oppai. There should be a limit as to the amount of tips. I have never paid more than $.2 at SL. Just $ for no massage 30mins quicky.

I paid $0.50 for 45 min, and $0.70 for HJ (all I had with me) and the MP got really upset, and kept pushing me for FS, which I didn't want. wasn't a great time. But I will say that the older guy at the front desk (I'm guessing the owner) was very pleasant and professional

I guess my wording didn't come out the right way.....Everything, that Jackfrost, and Oppai is correct.........what I was trying to say is that most SP at most AMPs will ask for $.2 for FS. But like tipping with any service (may it be your barber, bellboy, waiter, taxis driver, etc.) if you feel that the service is better than your expectation (which I'm sure most people will say "yes" with SL).....and if you feel confortable (you can afford to give more) you should show your appreciation by giving a little more.

I do like May massage a lot, so I sometime I ask for 1.5 hours, b/c I'm booking May for 2 session....$150 tip is not out of line, which also includes MSOG....as "the pooh" would put it.....$100 for 30 min. May could probably serve 2 clients within this time frame....meaning that she could have earned $200 within the 1.5 hours.

You sounded like a big tipper when you hinted that Ocenic should pay more than $120 if he likes the service, until you said that tipping should be $150 if the session is 1.5 hr .

If $120 is for 1 hour, then when you pro-rate it, the tip should be $180 for 1.5 hour . I think you were being too cheap, dicky. I wouldn't lecture Oceanic on tipping if I were you. Agree ? Not that I am trying to defend Oceanic .

BTW, are you the authority on tipping ?

chuckw, just giving my opinion, just like you're entitle to yours.....this is what the SP told me, they ask for $150 for 1.5 hours (not May, it was Leah)....and it was $120 for an hour or less. If you're trying to tell us that we should tip $180 for 1.5 hours, and that is the going rate today...please state so.....cause the $150 for 1.5 hours is a little old, like over 2 years now.

Everyone tip whatever they feel is appropriate....when you go to a restaurant, everyone tip differently….while some might tip between 10% to 20%….some might just bring out a calculator and tip exactly 10%. With that being said, as long as you tip the minimum, and if you feel that the SP deserve more (like anything else in life), then you should show your appreciation by tipping a little more.

BTW, I do tip more than $150 for 2 session with May (how else am I going to get MSOG )…but, that’s me….cause I do like her massage as well as her service, and IMHO she deserves more.....At the same time, I've tip a lot of SP at other AMPs only $120, cause their service in my opinion were just average. If you feel that the SP, at SL is nothing special, then don't tip more....cause under your own opinion they don't deserve it. The SP won't care if you give the minimum, but if you tip a little more, chances are the SP will remember you the next time you come in....and trust me, if the SP remembers you, the next time round will be more memorable.

Thanks guys, for all of the advice. I got thrown off by the EdMartin posts and thought that maybe I was inadvertently undertipping. But now I think that I'm pretty much consistent with everyone else. I agree that these girls are really great and that we should treat them right.

Lets focus on the real issue, and do not get side tracked about other issues such as the reasons for tipping or a lecture from you.

Whether the tipping of $150 for 1.5 hr is two-yr old or yesterday is irrevelant. What is important is consistent. If you tip the girls $120 for 1 hr, then $150 for 1.5 hr is not sufficient. To be mroe specific,

$120 for 1 hour means $2.00 per minute, but
$150 for 1.5 hour means $1.67 per minute, thus under-tipped.

It is not that I want to impose my opinion on you, but it is a simple math and you should have enough education to figure it out, unless you flunked your math in grade school.

If it was the girl who suggested it, then she was just being polite, and you should not have exploited that.


I just found it unbelieable that you criticized Oceanic for being cheap while you are not that generous yourself.

Yes, if you go by math....$150 is low, but again this is what the SP ask for, and I state over and over again, this is the minimum, By saying this, other eforum.xxxs, would know how much money they should bring. If they choose to go longer then one hour, they should expect to pay more then the normal $120 tip......but besides me, who else really goes longer then one hour

If we go into math....then we can go into room rates as well....$50/45 minutes....or $60/hour.....then the room rate should be either $100 or $90/1.5 hours....yet Patrick only charges $80/1.5 hours.

The SP is not going to jump from one room to another back to back......it might happen, but then again it might not.....there are days when a SP might only see one client the whole day (Other MP). Again, this is what the SP ask for, and I think it's fair......tipping "more" then the minimum is a personal thing, all I can say is that .....as for $180, I cannot say that is the minimum, cause best to my knowledge, it’s not…….we can recommend it to other eforum.xxxs, but I think everyone would start to argue, “why so much?!?”


Also Oceanic, would be the first person to say I never called him cheap (or would I call anyone else). This board is for people to share information, to help each other trying to get the best value for their dollars. I was stating the minimum (cause Oceanic asked) for one hour and 1.5 hours. Again, if anyone can state that the information I gave out was incorrect, then feel free to state the minimum we should be giving.

Why are guys telling each other what to tip? From reading all the reviews of Swan, Prosper, New World, Bex and other AMP's it is easy to determine what is expected in terms of tipping at these places.

IMHO if someone has done their research they know what the "going rate" (I really hate that term but it seems to fit here) is and it is idiotic to pay substantially more than that. What other service do you do that for. I know the hair dresser, waitress example is used but there is usually a going rate of about 15-20% tip on top of your bill. I don't think customers say I'll pay you $50 dollars for that steak instead of $25 because it was so good.

Also I think it is ridiculous to bargain down $10-20 of what is considered the norm.

You are right you never said that Oceanic was cheap, but you kind of suggested that.

To compare room fees with tipping a AMP attendant is like comparing oranges with apples - a MP attendant is a human being where a room is not , unless you are suggsting that MP attendants need not be treated like human beings.


I don't beleive it will be productive to keep debating on this issue. Lets agree to disagree. I know you actually tipped less than $150 for that 1.5 hour session with May. Maybe that was long time ago.

If I were you, I would not suggest to Oceanic that he could have tipped more if he liked the service. Otherwise, it would be like I don't practice what I preach .

So, correct me if I am wrong, many of you visit the MP/AMP and pay 80+180 (tips) = 260 for one and half hours of pleasure. I usually don't pay more than 160 for 45 minutes of service at the AMP, but of course, it was only SSOG...
