Bangkok is a great place to visit from airport went to Nana Hotel and right across the street or alley there are ladies on at least first two floors all the way around plus you can bring them back to hotel room. If you decide to travel to Pattaya there are plenty of women there too. Stayed at the Penthouse Hotel cannot beat it, but there are other hotels as well. It has been 13 years since visiting Bangkok and Pattaya. Asia section has more info on PI and such. When you are ready to leave Nana Hotel, a small bus takes you to a real bus then several hours later arrive in Pattaya. The Penthouse Hotel is a good walk from where the bus drops you off.

THERE IS A TIME WARP IN TIJUANA

I guarantee you that if you try to go "for an hour or two" you will be there a minimum of 5 hours. Every single time I get there in the early evening and plan to leave by midnight, I leave around 3am; If I plan to leave by 2 or 3am, I stay until the sun comes up; if I have other business in TJ and get there around noon, I stay until 10 or 11pm... There is a Twilight Zone like porthole encompassing the zona that causes time to run in ultra fast motion. I swear by it.

Forgot to mention, I thought I saw the electronic billboard at the border saying that you will need a passport or some kind of border crossing ID as of 6/1/2009. Didn't pay that much attention because I have a passport.

The $1 is a tip for the hotel room cleaner. It's customary and most mongers oblige. As you walk down the stairs, one or maybe more other janitors will try to hit you up for a tip for them, too. Just say, "Ya di (pronounced dee)," which means, "I already gave."

There are great places to eat in TJ (and awful places, too). One of my favorites is just a couple of blocks away from la Zona. It's called Los Pollouelos and has great rotisserie chicken with mole poblano. It's on Martinez, just north of 2nd (Benitez). If you are worried about being hassled, take a cab. It shouldn't cost more than a couple of bucks since it is literally only two blocks from la Zona. Some people swear by the taco stands but I find them far too greasy.

You could also do the typical tourist thang on Revolucion. Walk up and down and get hassled by vendors. Also, some mongers like to frequent the bars on Revolucion but most of us stay far away from them.
