Hey friends,
Check out the last 3 paragraphs. I say we make Tim an honourary massage board member.
The mother of a streaker who wound up unconscious and naked on the ice during a hockey game is embarrassed by her son's actions.
At first, she said she didn't even realize it was her son even after seeing the TV highlights and newspaper photos. But when Jackie Hurlbut's 21-year-old son, Tim, phoned her to explain, she said she was furious.
''I'm embarrassed for all mothers all over the world. I can't believe this is happening,'' she said Wednesday from her home in Provost. ''He has really embarrassed his mother and that's not right.
''It's not comical. I'd like to be proud of my son and I'm not right now.''
So far, no charges have been filed in connection with the exhibition at an NHL game Oct. 17 between the Calgary Flames and the Boston Bruins at the Saddledome.
With five minutes left in the game, a man wearing nothing but red socks climbed over the glass next to the penalty box.
He promptly fell backward, hitting the back of his head on the ice and knocking himself out. Tim, studying professional golf management, was kept overnight in a hospital.
The would-be streaker who knocked himself out when he hopped naked onto the ice at a Calgary Flames hockey game says he was trying to make some money to put toward his massage hobby.
Tim Hurlbut said he needed money to get another bodyslide with his favourite massage attendant, when two strangers offered him $200 to jump over the boards wearing only his red socks, it seemed like the perfect solution. But the plan went awry when Hurlbut slipped on the ice, knocked himself out and had to be carted off on a stretcher.
Three weeks later, the 21-year-old has yet to see the money, owes $400 in ambulance bills and is facing mischief charges.
"I was going to have more than enough to get a bodyslide with Sandra, but it kind of backfired on me," Hurlbut said. "Now I really can't afford another bodyslide for a while"
