In CR, there is not reason for taking a street girl. Period. There are way to many options at all price points, from $8 a half hour on call 6 on up....

Didnt your buddy get drugged and robbed from a DR girl? So whats your point. If its easy enough to get a fake ID here, then Id hate to see how easy it is to get one in a 3rd world country.

Street girls in CR are the exact same as any other country, and will always be an option.

But I find it amusing the anti street girl mentality everyone has here.

Go on a PI board or a Thailand board, and probably 50% of the guys are all for street girls. Go to Singapore, and thats basically what you would be doing.

There are countless other options other than the Del Rey. If somebody gets off by flirting with danger, street girls are an option. But I can't think of any other reason to take chances being mugged, arrested (if she's under 18) or discovering a penis underneath the miniskirt. There are just too many places where you have a little security to prowl the streets. San Jose isn't Thailand, as you are well aware, Jmac.

Ground zero for hooking is the Del Rey in San Jose and not the street like in Colombia or Thailand. There's a reason the street hookers are not in the DR where the vast majority of North Americans with cash hang out. The risks associated with the street scene are not the same as in the DR. That's why the street scene in SJO is not recommended especially if she turns out to be less than 18.

I think you just want to argue for the sake of arguing.

I just look at it this way. With all the other places to 'shop' for chicas in CR, why go to the more dangerous areas of town in a taxi looking to pick up a girl that obviously has a good reason (man, und***ge, disease, black listed etc.) for not working in a more "reputable" place.
Seems to me that is just asking for trouble when there are a LOT better options. Also, in my experience driving around San Jose, the girls on the street are just plain dogs!!! And if your looking for cheap, just head to the Dungeon :shock:
But if someone has a good reason for picking up street girls in Costa Rica, I'd really like to hear the reasoning behind it.

If you want to pick up a street girl and defend it go ahead. But the reasons you've heard are mostly correct. Unlike a lot of places where there is a stroll there isn't one in SJ for quality girls. There is a stroll however for Transexuals and another one for crackheads/diseased/und***ge girls. However you can occasionly pick up a girl in transition from a strip club/mp/HDR etc. There is also the occasional college girls that walk along central that aren't pro's but are willing to work for the right situations. I strongly discourage this unless you know how to approach the situation with class cause its real easy to offend someone.
If your looking for Shemales look from the parque morazan back to zona blue. The entire block is full of shemales late at night. If your looking for the uncleaned crackhead/possibly diseased 2-10 dollar girls you can check between mercado central to the best western up to around krysis. I will say I have seen a few normal looking girls in this area but they are without a doubt addicted to crack just not to the point of some of the others. If your wanting a pro leaving work just get lucky or ask a girl when she gets off outside of the establishments. If your looking for an HDR girl outside the HDR check between the HDR and pres and from the HDR to parque morazan.
This just covers the gringo gulch area of SJ. As you get into the smaller barrios and neighborhoods you can find a lot of street action that caters to the locals. Quality of these girls vary greatly but usually they are not up to par with a girl you could pull out of the HDR. The downside is if your a white guy walking around any of these neighborhoods at night will surely meet you with at minimum a knife to the back demanding your goods to the worse side sending you home in a coffin.
I have seen almost every neighborhood in SJ and walked most of them. There are many streets that when I got off I questioned finding religion for getting me out of there safe. Even ticos get robbed regulary.
The upper end neighborhoods that are mostly safe for anyone to walk around like Escazu have almost 0 street action.
Theres also the option of trying to meet girls outside the colleges or bars. But again your probably dealing with non-pros in a non-pro enviroment and are very likely to really hurt someones feelings by offering them money. Just cause its a third world country doesn't mean people don't have a value system or very religious. Believe it or not prostitutes make up for a very very low percentage of SJ's population and many ticos don't approve even though some tolerate.
