Rice Bran Oil

Has anyone used Rice Bran Oil for massage? I have used Jojoba Oil in the past, love it, hate the price. I also had to mix it with a cream for some of my hairy clients. Now I use Apricot oil, works great, nothing else needed with it. I am looking for something unscented and not a nut oil.

Rice bran oil is an ingredient in an oil I use that I like a lot: Soothing Touch Fragrance Free Lite. You can buy it at bodyworkmall.com and many other online sources. It is a blend, so I can't speak for Rice Bran Oil by itself, but I like the blend a lot. It is scentless and washes out of sheets well. Other oils in the blend include almond oil, sunflower oil, grapeseed oil, vitamin E.

When I want to use an oil that is completely non-allergenic (no nuts) and washes out of sheets easily, I use grapeseed oil.

Not sure about the rice bran oil. But, I do know a source for lower-priced jojoba. I looooove my jojoba! It's http://www.jojobacompany.com . They have a gallon of pesticide free jojoba for $52.50 or organic for $66.00. My gallon lasted me all through school, and is almost gone now after 4 months of intermittent work.

I am allergic (maybe sensitive would be a better word) to grapeseed oil, so it's not completely non-allergenic LOL. It breaks me out in little red dots. They don't itch or hurt. They just sit there and stare at me.

But, then I'm just freak of nature in many ways, so you'll probably never have a problem.

I'm sensitive to grapeseed oil, too, Emily. My rash from it itches, though!

Wow! Good to know about grapeseed. I had always heard that it was one of the safest, non-reactive oils, similar to jojoba. Neither I nor any of my clients has ever had a reaction to it. It's good to know that some do so I will recognize if it ever happens to my clients.

I think it really is safe and very unfrequently reactive - I am another "freak of nature" lol. I am horribly allergic to aloe, which is everywhere, in everything..... Reacting is rare, but it can happen!!
