I just ordered a new iPhone (I got a 3gs because that is what I can afford - I know it's not as good as the 4, but I'm not willing to go in debt for a phone!) What are some tips that you could give me? What are common mistakes that new iPhone users make? What should I do or watch out for? I am getting my phone on Tuesday so I want to be as ready as possible!

Also, I know that there is an app that helps you locate stars, constelations, and planets - anyone know what it is called? Thanks!
 
I think the app you're looking for is called Planets (free) or Star Walk (2.99).

I recommend that you buy a case for your phone as soon as you can because the screen cracks if you drop it. If you don't want the screen to get scratched, then you should buy a screen protector (usually very cheap). If you're scared to lose texts or any information, then I recommend you sync your phone often with iTunes. But other than that, there aren't really any mistakes you can make with the phone. Enjoy it! :)
