Normally it is a girl you meet on a dating site asking u to pay her rent or give her spending money or something like that in exchange for being your girlfriend. They are usually looking for somebody who is a local resident.

That's good advice. I will have a go at Seznam, should be a laugh anyway. Do you know any other suitable sites? I live in Prague. I bought an 'Annonce' to look for a lonely hearts page, but all I could find was the hookers supplement, 20 pages in glorious colour. Damn, I love this town.

If you answer the dating ads every so often a girl will tell you she is looking for a sponsor. Maybe 1/10. This category of girl is not so international minded, so all but one of them that asked me about that were in czech language ads. some of them are quite ambitious. One offered to be my once a week lover if i paid her year's school tuition! but most just want you to pay the rent.

Given the general mentality you probably won't get as much as you want until you are paying a lot more than rent, even though that was the original deal. I went out with one of these from an ad once. They start off by asking you to take them to the most expensive cocktail bars and restaurants they know, then you go from there.

Does anybody know the practical details of how 'sponsorship' works in the Cz? What the arrangement usually is? Where you can find advertisements, or where you can put an advert out for a girl? I have heard of the system for years, but I have no actual experience of it. Yet.
